I do not understand the negative reviews on this item. It is a CD player that plays CD's, which it does quite well. Mine has never skipped at all. Some reviewers have commented that the volume isn't high enough. When you have this in baby's crib and not right in front of your face, yes, the volume doesn't seem very loud when it's turned all the way up but when you lean down where your baby's head is it is plenty loud. I wouldn't want it any louder for my baby. I like that it plays an entire CD and then shuts itself off. Very easy to turn on also; you only have to push the play button and it turns the unit on and starts the CD. The way our crib is made it will not clip onto the side but that's no problem; I just lay it down in a corner of the crib. When my baby slept in his bassinet, it did clip right on to the side perfectly. I used it very much during the time when he was colicky and nothing would soothe him. I purchased a CD that had vacuum cleaner sounds on it and this is the only thing that would settle him down to go to sleep. It was a relief to find a product that would play CD's and hook right on to the side of his bassinet. I hope this review has helped others decide to give this product a try. It came in very handy for me and still does.

Worked great at first, but the light would only stay on for a while, it skipped if i barely touched it! Bottom line, it was horrible!

Product didn't work at all. In the hussle box accidently got thrown away and we were of course stuck with the product. Should have read the reviews before buying this product. Of all the horrible reviews I believe this product should be removed from sale!!!!!

The speaker on this is between the clips, which mount on the crib rails, so no matter how you placed it, part of the speaker is covered by a rail. Since crib rails are pretty standard in width, you'd think they'd have this design mastered.

The sound from the speaker was very limited, with the base almost non-existent. When playing lullabies, the base (which is the slow "beat" of the music, which lulls babies to sleep) wasn't there.

It wouldn't play burned CD's which is not essential but would be nice since we had favorite lullabies from different CD's we wanted to use together. When we'd put the CD in it'd make a horrible clicking/grinding sound until we removed the CD. No music would play from the speakers, just the mechanical sound from the unit itself.

The LCD screen had no light on it, so in a dark nursery we were unable to see what track was playing or anything else that may show on the display. Even with a night light in the room (2-3 feet away) it was impossible to read the display.

There is no remote or other way to start the music without walking up to the crib and pushing a button. With a half-awake baby who wants YOU to soothe her to sleep, a remote control would be great.

After 3 weeks it stopped playing the store-bought lullaby CD's. We had accepted it wouldn't play our burned CD's but not ANY CD's is just not acceptable. We already planned to return it because of the stupid design flaws, but this cinched it for us. Thank God we saved the packaging!!

I do NOT recommend this product to anyone. Just buy a stereo system for $30 more with a remote and separate speakers you can stack and point right into the crib (out of reach through the slats) and you'll be fine. The stereo will be more useful as the baby ages anyhow, perhaps lasting well into the school years.

i knew my baby would love music because he would always react to it in my belly. i use this cd player every night listening to Jewel's Lullabys and it's a sure way to put him to sleep, i've brought it on walks with me and also to visit family in Ohio so it's really convenient. Our crib is not from BRU or anything, we got it from Amish country in Ohio and it fits like a glove! it also fits on our pack & play. we love this item! when the batteries start to die, it will start skipping, but the batteries last a normal amount of time, depending on if i will keep it on all night or just use it as nathan's falling asleep.

I was very excited to get the CD player for my shower. I think it's a great concept that it clips onto the crib (although it didn't quite fit on my crib). I started using it several weeks ago and it worked fine until it kept shutting off halfway through the CD. I changed the batteries and it kept doing it. I tried a few different CDs, but it did it with all of them. Now it doesn't play at all!!!

I registered for this product and the first time we used it it made a loud odd sound about 30 seconds in and would continue to make the sound throughout the cd. We exchanged it for another one and it immediately made the same sound regardless of the cd we used. We'll be taking the 2nd one back for store credit - don't waste your time or money on it.

This is a pretty good CD player. It plays at a low tone just for baby. I like it because it attaches to the crib and plays and not limited to the one tune that the mobile plays. Also has a soft light that points inside the crib, so you wont wake baby. For the most part a pretty good product. It is one of my favorite baby shower gifts.

Got this as a gift; the 'Stop' and 'Search' buttons did not work, so I exchanged it at the store for another one. I tested the new one out at the store and it worked fine. As soon as I tried it at home, the thing didn't play at all. I'm taking the second one back and getting store credit. I'm surprised at what a piece of junk this is.
