This is a great book shelf! I purchased a lazy susan bracket on [@] for $7.77 and I screwed it under the bookshelf and now it spins very smoothly! The lazy susan holds up to 1000 pounds of weight which is perfect for this size book shelf. I also have the problem of the books falling forward on the two forward facing sides. Also needed to customize and fix as well. Other than those two things this book shelf is great for storage and looks amazing.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This item is solidly built with lots of storage. The only 2 things I do not like about it are not that big of an issue, especially if you have this in the middle of a room rather then close to a wall or corner.

1. I'd rather the bookshelf were on a lazy suzan type of device. Wheels do not work well on carpeting and it does not move smoothly.

2. On the 2 sides where the books face outward, the cross-piece is too low and book flop over out of the shelf. I added my own cross-pieces 6 inches higher to solve this.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

excellent storage

Comments about Guidecraft 4 Sided Library:

I love this storage unit. We desperatly needed a home for our huge collection of books.
Pros: Books of all sizes fit nicely, and the kids have easy access to them. The wood almost seems unfinished. It would be very easy to paint or stain this piece to match the other furniture.

The only con: this bookcase is very large (tall)! I should have measured it. I was so excited about finding this great case that swiveled and held so many books, that I didn't take time to measure. Even so, I would never send it back. As the kids grow the books will only become more numerous.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
