My son received this as a gift and was SO excited. Being a dinosaur fanatic, it just couldn't have been a better promise of fun for him. The first red flag popped up immediately after opening to find that what appeared to be a nice plastic "body" was actually incredibly cheap, painted styrofoam. If you look at their Toys R Us video, it says "made of sturdy foam to resist damage," but don't believe it for a second. There are only two reasons for the foam: 1. Cost, or 2. Weight. I'd like to think that the company wasn't completely ruthless about ripping us off, so perhaps the issue of weight WAS a factor. For how it flies (or should I say doesn't fly), I can believe that the motor couldn't possibly keep anything heavier in the air. Fast forward 30-40 minutes in which my son waited so the remote had a chance to charge the Dino. During that time, the Dino was accidentally knocked off of a low end table, onto thick carpet, and both propellers popped off. That was red flag #2, but again, I thought that that could have possibly been designed in so the props would detach before breaking in a crash. The final flag came as we tried over and over to get the bird in the air. It only picked up the remote signal two or three times and of that, not once did the thing fly. Each time it went into immediate nose dive and the styrofoam beak is now buckled and white due to the paint coming off. We did all of this over grass, as it instructs, so the product wouldn't break! Now, after plenty of additional charge and brand-new batteries, the thing will not work at all. It will not pick up the signal again

The legs broke off this product before my son even attempted to fly it. He was never able to get it to fly, and it doesn't hold a charge for more than a minute or two. I'm going to attempt to take it back to the store for a refund.

I bought this for myself. Controls are terrible. Could not get it to take off even if thrown up or straight. After 3 nose dives into grass, it broke. You have to charge it after 2 minutes of flight. I would absolutely not purchase this for anyone you care about. Shame on you Animal Planet and Toys R Us.

My son and my two nephews each recieved one of these for Christmas. They were jjust now able to take them out of the box and play with them, as it ws cold when they first got them. One of them broke immediating just from handling it to charge it. The other two brokle within 10 minutes of play. I'm not talking minor breaking, they completely fell apart. One of the remote antennaes even broke off completely because it barely brushed against a chair. These are made of very cheap styrofoam. I might also addd that not one of them ever flew. Even adults were trying to get them to fly and they absolutely would not. Don't waste your money. I wish there was an option for 0 stars because this product doesn't even deserve 1!

Flew this with my grandson and flies great, circles and turns are good. The only negative is you need to land on the grass and land straight so it does require a longer approach to avoid breakage.
We had a great time scaring the other kids at the park.

I bought this for my 6 year old son as a Christmas present because he loves dinosaurs and I thought the idea was really cool. It was a complete waste of money. It claimed it was good for beginners to fly, not only couldn't my son fly it, but neither could his older teenage brothers or his dad. It was made out of extremely cheap Styrofoam, which means it breaks very quickly as it nose dives to the ground because it won't fly. Don't waste your money!

Product was very cheap made and did not work. Propeller and foot both came off when taken out of the package. We glued both back on as they should have been but it still will not fly except straight to the ground. This was a "Santa" toy so taking it back wasn't really an option. Very disapointed mom and 5 year old.

I purchased this for my 6yo as a Christmas gift and it broke on the first day. I even read the reviews for it, all saying "great product, easy to fly, etc." (only the first 3 reviews, all 5 stars, were written at the time I was purchasing)

First of all, it is made out of a flimsy styrofoam. Multiple pieces of the styrofoam broke off on the first day of flying. Second of all, there is no mechanism for adjusting the flying vertically, only right/left, so it's more of a "controlled fall" rather than a true "flying" pterodactyl. Do not waste your money on this. And if you do, do not expect it to last or live up to its claims.
