Great toy..not too many noises and gizmos like most toys today. Just a straight forward, old fashioned toy. Little beep when pressing the numbers, ka-ching sound when the drawer opens. Santa brought this for my 5 year old and she has played with it every day since. Would highly recommend this model over the scanners etc. Only thing I have a slight problem with is the drawer pops open fast and furious which is too much for my 2 year old-the "change" flies out, but other than that would not change it for the world. Easily my favorite toy this Christmas.

I orderd this from [@] for my son as a Christmas present. He really wanted a cash register. Good thing I checked 6 days before the big day. Took it out of the box, put the batteries in, and kept getting the warning "CB (=coin bank) Open." I made sure the coin bank was closed properly, yet the warning continued and basically the machine froze. I tried resetting the machine many times--no luck. This one is going back. Now I need to look for another cash register quick.

Comments about Learning Resources Teaching Cash Register:

My son Loves the cash register and it has great features to help them learn math. Biggest problem is we have had it 2 weeks and the drawer where all the money is will not open, it is stuck so unfortunately it can no longer be played with as a cash register. The button that opens it when you push it nothing happens:(

Comments about Learning Resources Teaching Cash Register:

Just got this toy last week and the grandkids saw it for the first time on Sunday. They immediately put it to use and were selling/buying many items from my home.

They enjoyed using this product and had no trouble understanding how to put it to practical use.

Like the math games that are part of this product.

Comments about Learning Resources Teaching Cash Register:

My son LOVES playing with money, and now that he's 4 I thought this cash register would be perfect for him since it takes real or pretend money. (He prefers playing with real coins.) It's a really cool toy because it identifies each coin you put in the slot, adds, counts, etc. One complaint I have is that the weight scale comes off too easily (making it easy to lose) and the cash drawer opens to quickly so it slings the money out. Also, I think it's a little difficult to use for a 4 year-old. It may be better suited to older children because some of the concepts are too advanced for younger children. But younger kids can still use it to put coins in and play that way. We still like it though!

Comments about Learning Resources Teaching Cash Register:

I took the toy out of the box for my four year old for the first time today and it is going to take a couple of turns before she figures out the basics of pretending to ring up and pay for a sale much less play the games that are programmed into the machine. This toy definitely requires adult participation to establish how to use it as a role playing toy so the addition, subtraction and money identifying games will also be most beneficial to a child with adult supervision.

My 33 month old son really likes the coin slot and the register says dime, penny, etc. You can put real change in the slot and it still recognizes the coins! He loves all the beeps when pressing the buttons and likes putting money in the drawer. His favorite part is the credit card transaction! This is the only toy that keeps him occupied for longer than a few minutes. He plays with it every day. Only wish the paper money was a bit stronger, it rips easily. Had it for about 2 weeks so far and it works fine.
