Baby's First Blocks by Fisher-Price has 10 bright blocks that baby can drop into the open bucket or through the shape-sorting lid. Filling the bucket with blocks, dumping them out, and starting over is great for eye-hand coordination and other early skills. Then baby can move on to sorting and stacking, learning about identifying and matching shapes while having fun! There are 5 different shapes to help build early identification skills and a carry handle for take-along fun.

My little guys like this toy. They've had it since about 6 months old and are now almost a year. They are just starting to try to put the shapes through the proper holes, but the the lid comes off really easily, so when they're trying the lid usually pops off. Still, they love to dump the whole thing upside down, and fight over who gets to carry around the lid.

The reason I gave three stars is because I think the shapes should be compatible with other Fisher-Price toys that have shape sorter holes, like the Laugh and Learn Home. It's a real pain to have to keep the blocks separate, not to mention confusing for the boys when they actually try to put the blocks through what looks like the right hole (but for the wrong toy).

            I gave this gift to my nephew of one year. He is just pulling off the top and throwing the toys in the bucket. The top of the bucket should have a locking mechanism so he can truly practice his shapes.

                  This is a cute toy, smiple and easy...maybe a little to simple when it comes to the lid. It just comes right off. Good thing is is my little girl loves the bucket the most so I guess its ok about the lid. I hope when she gets a bit older she will start putting the shapes through the lid and find that fun too. Im going to try to work with her on it and have it down pat by may (when she turns 1)

                    My son has had this for 2+ months now and he loves the thing, it's his favorite thing to play with right now! The red bucket is his favorite part oddly enough! Like other reviewers have said, the lid comes off VERY easily and that is the only downside to the product. It would be nice if it clicked in place so he couldn't lift it off every time I put it on to show him the holes for the blocks. But all in all it is a good little toy and I'm glad we bought it for him!

                      Don't get me wrong I love these blocks and so does my 7 month old son but the main problem I have is the lid doesn't click on so the first thing my son does when he plays with it is rip the lid off. I'm sure when he gets older he will realize he can put the blocks in through the lid but I just wish it clicked on then I would have given 5 stars. Other than that this toy is perfect!
