I bought this for my 3 year old and 9 year old. Assembly was not at all easy , i could not fix the post into the base. Also the two posts stand seperate and if you have to make it taller , you have to insert one into the other.

I bought thinking this as a single piece design.

We bought this hoop 2 years ago for my oldest son, who is now 4. My youngest son has been playing with it as well for the past year. We are getting him his own hoop for his 3rd birthday this weekend. My older son likes to play with the hoop at the 5' or 6' heights but my younger son is still shooting at the 4' height. By having 2 hoops they will be able to play by themselves at the height they want, or we will put them on opposite ends of the yard and they can play 'full court' basketball. This past winter we left the original hoop outside on our deck. It withstood the snow and the cold. The only thing we replaced this year was the net. It's been outside in all kinds of weather for the past 2 years so we didn't mind replacing it. We love this, it's one of the best toys we have purchased.

We are using this inside, and did not fill it with water or sand. At first we left it at the 3' height and Katie could make the baskets by walking up to it, no problem... so we raised it up to the 4' height and she was challenged and also quickly lost interest so we put it back down to the three feet. Assembly was not difficult, but was not a piece of cake either. Getting the backboard on was a little tough; you need a phillips head screwdriver for the hoop and net; and wiggling the posts into the holes is a little bit of a chore (use the dishwashing liquid as mentioned). Other than that, total time from box to play was about 30 minutes and that included putting on the stickers and readjusting the height. Great product and I would buy it again! The box does take up a lot of room in the car; we had to put the seat down to make it fit, but you could easily take it out of the box also for it to fit in the trunk.

Sturdy, well built. My 4 yr. old boy abuses it and has for over a year. It gets daily use from him and his little sister(2 yrs.). Used indoors and out and still looks new.

This was a Christmas present from my parents to my son this year. He's not quite 2 yet, but tall for his age and loves basketball. He wants to shoot every day now! I have it on four foot, but it is very easy to adjust up or down. Good product and I feel it was a good price as well. The only downside I found was in the assembly - it was simple, just required a little "muscle"!
