When breastfeeding has left your nipples sore and cracked, Philips AVENT nipple protectors let you keep nursing comfortably. The silicone shields cover your nipples so your skin can heal, and baby's latch-on creates a seal, letting your little one suckle milk through the shield's three holes. The shields are narrow so your bundle of joy can still smell and taste your skin while feeding.
Two Philips AVENT nipple protectors.
Philips AVENT nipple protectors let you keep nursing baby comfortably when your skin has become sore or cracked from breastfeeding. These silicone shields sit on top of the nipple so baby can latch on like normal. Three holes at the shield's peak let milk flow through to your hungry little one.
The odor- and taste-free silicone shields are just 1 inch across, so baby can still feel and smell your skin while nursing. Since baby can still feed, your milk supply will stay stimulated and your baby will easily go back to your nipple once your skin has healed. Silicone is durable and can be sterilized by boiling for five minutes or in any Philips AVENT sterilizer.
The AVENT nipple protector is worn during breastfeeding to help protect sore or cracked nipples and minimize pain. The shape allows skin contact with baby and is made of odorless, tasteless, ultra-fine silicone.

We left the hospital feeling optimistic that we got a good latch. When we came home we got so frustrated because I have inverted nipples. I was almost about to switch to formula feeding. But these little miracles saved us! They are so thin that I still feel like I am breastfeeding without the pain and frustration. As my mom said, whoever invented these, should definitely get recognized for an outstanding product idea. My husband got me 5 packs of these, so I keep one in our diaper bag, one in the kitchen, one in the bedroom, etc. So I highly recommend buying more than one pack, so you don't have to clean them right after each use. Just use mild soap to wash them, rinse and boil them for a few minutes in the evening and you are set for another hassle free breastfeeding day!One con- it's sometimes hard to stick them on. I usually put a drop of water on each side to solve this problem.

When my baby was born she had latching problem, bcoz of my flat nipples. One of the Lactation consultant gave me this to try. It worked like wonders, the baby could latch on easily. Almost used it for 4 months. Tried to wean her from nipple shield but was very difficult. Finally when I went back to work, she mostly took bottle during the hours I was out. When I came back home, baby got very frustrated with the nipple shield. Luckily I was successfuly able to use this opportunity to wean her from shield.WARNNING: - use this as temporary solution only. Otherwise, its very hard to wean the baby from using nipple shield.

These work very well. They have helped me ease into breastfeeding while still allowing enough contact between my baby and I to trigger letdown and milk production. My baby doesn't seem to mind using it either.
Easy to clean but

I absolutely love this it helped take most on the pain away with the "blebs" I was getting on one side from my daughter. They are super easy to clean and keep up with. But, depending on the bra you can kinda see them through it. Also, I wish they stuck better. I used it while I was home to feed her and it was so much more comfortable and it was in my size, 21mm. It was super easy for her to latch with right off the at.

I'm so glad I went with these shields after I had my son. My nipples were so sore and these provided relief until my milk came in.
I would buy this product again.

I used this product to aid in breastfeeding with my son. He would not latch directly onto my nipple. He did however latch onto this product. The only down side I have had is that the product will not stay in place. I have even used creams as glue and you have to hold the sides down.
I would buy this product again, so helpful

I needed a nipple shield since I first started breastfeeding my baby boy since he couldn't latch properly. The first one I used was a medela but I could tell he kept having trouble to nurse with that one, we tried this ones from Phillips and he liked them a lot, keep buying this nipple shields again and again

My two week old wouldn't latch on, so I tried the nipple protector as a last resort. It worked wonders. All is well with nursing again.
