We were conflicted over what train set to go with when we began a few years ago. My daughter was incredibly excited by trains, including Thomas. We wanted something that would grow with her, and I had grown up with a Lionel train set. We'd gotten great reviews of the Thomas wood set, but liked the idea of trains that had motors. One mom friend explained that GeoTrax are remarkably durable. We went with them and haven't looked back. They have entertained my 3 year old beginning from about 18 mos , but her little brother found them fascinating from even earlier on (maybe 5 months or so). And no amount of crawling, jumping, or Godzilla action has led to breakage. This train runs as reliably as the other two we already have, and none consume excessive battery energy. In our house batteries are sometimes a nightmare, but not where GeoTrax is concerned. We're thrilled with our purchase!

Wonderful addition to the Geo Trax set. Both my 5 year old and 16 month old love it and play with it daily. Durable and easy to use.

Aside from needing 6 AA batteries, this toy is going to be a no-brainer for any child! Both my little girl and little boy love to play with these... the remote has cute sound effects and is very engaging. You can even have fun with these without using the tracks!

The toys do go for quite a while before needing new batteries, so don't let that discourage you.

the controller and the train or sturdy for little boy's. The controller fits perfect in the hands of little ones. The train is a good size and is built well. The train is easy to put on the track.

We love this train, it's just like the yellow one included in Grand Central Station... except slower. (If you watch the GeoTrax DVD, you'll learn why he's slower.)
Like the other remote control trains, this train goes forward and backwards.
Invest in rechargeable batteries for your trains, we are constantly changing ours!
