This is a beautiful car, an excellent addition to our daughter's Barbie collection. The remote control is out of the 1970's, in this day the car should have the ability to turn right or left while moving forward or backward. I put the remote away and decided to make the car powerless. I had to take one of the gears out of he transmission so the car would roll freely when my daughter pushes it around her make believe town. She is happy and so are we. Overall this car is great and the dolls look good in it!!!

My daughter screamed with excitement when she opened the box Christmas morning, and sadly, that is where most of the fun stopped. She's 4 1/2 but has a hard time getting the dolls in and out of the car. It is particularly difficult (i.e. usually requires a grown-up) to let Ken "drive".

It is really frustrating that this car does not turn. It goes in forward and reverse only. As other folks have pointed out, the car will "steer" in reverse--so if your child has mastered the 3-point turn, they might be able to manuever it without constantly picking it up! Also, this car really only runs on bare floors. We've tried on several different carpets and rugs, but it usually moves very little if at all.

The car itself is fun enough for the kids to play with, but considering that we are paying for a REMOTE CONTROL car, it would be nice if the remote control functionality worked better.

I returned the unopened box after seeing the one my cousin got for her girl... I have a boy and the remote cars in this price range have more movement and ranges and are also more powerful! As it is, the only remote control car for girls in toy stores ..is probably this one and it was weak!
They need to catch up on remote controls for girls!

I agree that this is a great car however again it only goes forward and backward. This is very silly since the Barbie Corvette I had over 30 years ago was not a battery remote but a cord that was attached to the car and you had to stay behind to drive it had a little steering wheel which directed the car to go where you wanted. Not just bump into something and have to back up to try and turn. I was very upset about this only issue. Come on Mattel you could have given some steering was the remote that cheap to make with just the two buttons?

My 2 daughters each got one of these for Christmas. Thought it would be fun for them to play together and "race" etc. Well, there is only one radio frequency, so the remote controls both cars. Ie., when you press the button to go forward on one remote, both cars go forward. Thus, they cannot play together at all without causing the other's car to move as well as their own. Frustrating!!! Defeats the purpose of having 2. We don't have a gift receipt and the boxes are torn up, so I doubt we can return one.

Big disappointment. This cart does not rotate! only goes forward and backward. Self control carts manufactured today offer many more advantages and are much cheaper than this poor barbie car that only goes forward and backward. not recommended.

This is an excellent quality toy. My almost 4 year old daughter loves it! The remote is easy to control and the car is HUGE. It's impossible to misplace. I'm really glad that we purchased this one. It's well worth the money!
