      We received this item as a gift for our baby, and it is lovely. It feels sturdy, and is absolutely classic in every way. As for the previous review, I would say that this is NOT a toy to give a toddler or small child, as it is heavy and quite nice. This is something you keep as a keepsake/nursery decoration until the child is older (I'd say about age 4) and can actually begin to save money in it and use it. It is going to be lovely in our baby's room. Also, a friend who was a silver/china buyer for a major retailer always had nothing but wonderful things to say about Reed & Barton's quality, so we trust their products.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      I purchased it for my little brother on sept. 2 for his Birthday. He said it was a very nice present. But the next day he accidentally broke it . It was so expensive and we had to buy another one from the [...]. So we promised to never buy something like that ever agian.

      Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
