These are the best nipples and bottles for newborns. vent aire allows baby to drink without taking in aire..the bottle has holes in the bottom of the bottle where aire escapes..this invention was a great one..till this day I still wonder how the milk never leaks from the bottom of the bottle. It is a blessing..My baby never got fussy b/c of gas. I kept the bottles for 3 yrs and pregnant again with # 2. These were one of baby items I kept and never gave away or lend to family..I'm so glad I didn't! I'm a Fulltime therapist, I know these bottles have two extra pieces you need to wash and sterilize, I did this for a whole year. It's really not a big deal to clean. Now, the Playtex drop..you need to dispose of bags and buy again and again. Although it may sound convenient I think it's a waste of money. If you like to save buy the vent aire bottles..Also some ppl dont know that when you see baby struggling drinking with 0-3 months slow flow it means you need to move on to fast flow.

This is a great product! My little guy was needing the larger Playtex VentAire bottles, but couldn't handle a faster nipple yet. The larger bottles only come with a fast nipple & Toys R Us is the only place I could find to buy those slow nipples!

during my whole pregnancy I read reviews and that's pretty much how I decided on a lot of the things I bought. so I knew I had to return the favor on as many products as I could. however, when it came to these bottles, my cousin recommended them so I just trusted her... BAD CHOICE! it would literally take my son over an hr to finish a bottle!! he would get sooo mad bc nothing comes out of the nipple!! it was so frustrating esp during 2 am feedings!! I switched to Dr Browns and he's doing much better now. Flow is just right.

We received a few different types of bottles at the baby shower so I've tried a couple different kinds. My newborn daughter did not do well with the wider nipples at all. I think she wound up wearing more than she ate. I like the ventiair bottles b/c they help with her gas and reflux, but not the fast nipples. she does just fine with the slow nipples. She used to choke on too much formula with the others. I have noticed once or twice when i go to check the temp of the formula, that nothing comes out, but i just run my finger over the top of the nipple and that seems to rectify the problem.

I can't speak for other moms but I can say my son loves these nipples. I bought both kinds of the ventair bottles(bigger nipple and these). My son does not like the bigger nipples so I had to put those bottles away and get more smaller nipple bottles. I would deff. recommend these but you have to remember that your baby is going to decide wether he or she likes them so really you can't say that the nipples are bad it's more than likely your baby not liking them.

We've successfully used the Playtex VentAire bottles but at one point in time you have to exchange the nipples. So I bought those in the hopes they would work as well.
Unfortunately they didn't. My boy wasn't able to get anything out of it. Not a single drop. Upon further inspection I noticed that the nipples opening is completely different than the opening in the nipples that came with the bottles.

it is disappointing because I liked the whole system and it worked wonderfully for us. It will until the last nipple needs to be exchanged. After that we won't use them any more.

What a shame.

My son can never finish a bottle when using these nipples. After 20 minutes of eating, he's barely eaten 1/2 an ounce. He has no problems with the Avent newborn flow. I've tried with ready to feed formula as well as powder, which is not as thick. Hopefully the fast flow nipples will be better.

My 2nd son had a hard time with wide mouth nipples and took to these right away. We didn't have any problems with milk not coming out like the other reviews stated. I think it depends on the baby because my oldest son only took to Avent. I tried several types with my 2nd and these are the ones he likes. I would recommend you try them and see if what you think. The downside to these are the multiple parts you have to clean. if you don't put them back correctly milk might leak out and also they don't work well in a bottle warmer. It's also worth mentioning his gas and fussiness improved with these bottles.

We had to put our boys on thicker formula due to reflux and needed extra nipples - we made the nipples a little bigger because the boys are not ready for the fast yet - works great!!

We originally used Avent bottles and nipples, until a friend of mine suggested switching to Ventaire to help with my daughter's reflux issues. Well, she had a terrible time trying to latch on to these too-small nipples, and when she finally did, she absolutely couldn't get a single drop of formula to come out. Awful.
