If I was given the chance to do this over I would definitely start my 2 year old son with this starter set. Why? The two most adored engines from the Thomas shows are in this one! (plus it's a great deal when you see the cost of each wooden engine sold individually). The track is well detailed and also works well with Imaginarium and Circo track. Test your child out to see if these toys will have any room in your child's heart. If it does, head back to the store for more track!

This was the "Santa" gift for my son, and to say it was the highlight is understating it. He loves making his own routes now, instead of just the oval, and making Thomas go from one side of the living room to the other. It was easy to assemble and perfect for a little 2 year old who loves to push his trains. Can't wait until he gets older to add on more trains and tracks. Also can fit universally with other wooden train sets.

My 2 year old grandson is fascinated by trains, so this was the perfect starter set. The pieces are kid friendly so my grandson could connect the track and the trains together by himself. A road is on the other side of the tracks, so a toddler can play cars with the set as well. You can purchase other sets to connect to this set creating your own network of railroads.

Although he hasn't opened this gift yet, I'm sure he will love it; he loves all things "Thomas and Friends". I'm glad I ordered it online because I didn't see it available in the local Toys R Us. Since Kyle is only two, he couldn't have used some of the other sets that were designed for older children.

We bought this for our 2yo for Christmas. He really loves trains especially Thomas. He was very excited when he opened it and he plays with it a lot. It was a great starter set and price.

Thomas is a favorite with my 2 year old grandson. Quality is excellent and lots of accessories available. The only drawback was that there are not enough tracks to connect some of the accessories so we need to buy more track. Otherwise a grate toy!

Our two-year old grandson loved it. He was so excited when he opened his Christmas gift from "Nana and Papa". The track fit together so well, and the train cars move easily on the track. The pieces are well-made and easy to set up. It's a precious "first" train set for a two year old.

Bought this for my 2 year old who is crazy about trains and Thomas. Great wooden train set for the price. Easy to assemble and he was able to figure out how to do the tracks in one day. Playset is extremely sturdy . Two trains that come with it are very cute and he loves pushing the choo choo

We bought this for our nearly 2 year old son, because we were thinking about getting a large train set for Christmas or his birthday. this was a great tester to see if he really liked it. When he saw it in the store he began saying "I NEED Thomas the Train!" It was a done deal! At [$], you can't beat it since the trains run about [$] or so each, and you get three of them, plus the track. Our little boy loves this set and can put the track together himself with very little assistance. We will definitely be buying more for Christmas and his birthday!
