I received a ton of these and the matching bedtime baths at my shower. I give my baby in the morning, but wasn't going to waste these. The smell is so overpowering and it did nothing to put her to sleep, not that I wanted her to anyway. I also found that she would occassionally break out in tiny red bumps from this. When I went back to using the pink J&J lotion, the bumps never came back. Therefore, I would not recommend this if your baby has sensitive skin or just based on the horrible smell of this product.

We've been using this lotion on my son as part of his bedtime routine since he was about 2 months old. (We apply everywhere but his face and diaper area) He has never broken out from it, and the scent really is not overpowering (it has a great, lavender scent).
He loves the massage that he gets with the lotion and I do believe it helps him sleep better--on nights that we have forgotten this part of the routine or did not have to lotion available, he's been crankier and more difficult to put down.
We also are constantly getting compliments about how soft his skin is and how great he smells.
He is almost 10 months and we still use it--always have a back up bottle available, as well!

I'm reading all the reviews and the negative reviews keep citing an overwhelming fragrance. I really don't see it, and I am sensitive to fragrances.

I use this every night as part of my daughter's bedtime routine. We massage with it everywhere except her neck and face. It does not break her out, and this is after attempting massages with Aveeno unscented (she got a terrible rash).

She sleeps from 9:30-10pm to 5 or 6am. Is it a coincidence that this happened AFTER I started to use the lotion?

I'd recommend it to anyone and am buying for expectant friends and family.

I had gotten all of the bed time set. I couldn't use it on my baby. It smelled so strong!! I only tried it once then me and my baby couldn't breath. It didn't even work at all.

This should be called insomnia lotion. The 3 times I used it to "help baby sleep better" she actually slept worse. Probably because it's so heavily perfumed.

I love this product. I still use this lotion on my daughters skin after baths and showers even 8 YEARS LATER. We love the way she smells after the lotions on. I could lay next to her for hours and just breathe in the scent. Its just something we got to keep from birth and remember every day. I hope I can do the same with my new baby but if not I will always recommend this product its amazing for the bonding times

I never wanted to buy this product but my mother-in-law insisted that I should try it. Well, bad decision! It made the skin of my 6 month old baby really dry. J & J is highly commercialized so most people think all their products are great but I don't think so. Most pediatricians don't recommend this...mine don't.

Our daughter is 15 months old. We have used this lotion for her "baby massage" after bath time, every night since she was old enough for a tub bath. This product is wonderful. It smells good, it is gentle and it did seem to help calm and sooth our little girl to sleep. I have bought this again and again and I will continue to use it for our next little one :)
