I use Medela flanges and connectors with my spectra pump. Hence I have to keep buying these silly pieces of plastic. Got home and sanitized them, replaced my membranes and lo and behold several of them wouldn't lay flat giving me no suction. Emailed medela' customer service and they said to call them and gave me a case #. After being on hold with my 2 month old fussing in her rock n play, the customer service rep says since it's not their pump there's nothing they can do. Even though it was a membrane defect, not an issue with the pump. I asked if there was a trick to get them to lay flat- boiling again or cleaning them with anything and she got very short with me and said no. Good grief! Spectra has such awesome customer service that I was surprised to be treated this way. Same goes for Kiinde and Nenesupply customer service. So I will start buying my membranes from a make off company and not support Medela with my money anymore.

Buy a pack to keep around just in case

Comments about Medela Spare Membranes:
While I was on travel and washing my breast pump parts, I happened to wash one of the membranes down the hotel sink - the first time I had done so in the 11+ months that I had been pumping. And of course, I did not bring any spares with me. Luckily, Babies R Us was nearby and had these in stock. These membranes are not terribly expensive (although I think you can get them for cheaper at other online retailers) so it's best to keep some with you at all times, just in case you lose one or one has ripped (which has happened to me before but my general experience is that the membranes are fairly sturdy). Lesson learned!

Must have for medela pump
Exactly what I needed and not too expensive to replace. Glad I could buy several because I keep losing them down the drain.

Definitely a must have !!! And extras at that! I went and visited my grandmother with the baby one afternoon, and when it was time to pump I realized I didn't have the membranes. I figured it would be okay with out them until I went to pump. The pump actually has no suction power with out them! For a great price I definitely wouldn't pass these up, especially since they can get lost easily.

Increase milk supply
Replacing the membranes every other pump session is key. My milk supply has stayed high and consistent even after returning to work. I recommend purchasing spare membranes for your pump. It will help.
I would buy this product again

So far so good, this product has been great. I was initially worried that it might not fit perfectly like the original one that came with the breast pump but oh boy was i wrong

If you pump you will need this. After a couple of months it's a must to replace these. After a while they don't work like they used to. So to get a better suction you need to replace them. They are pretty cheap which is nice. Stock up!
Just what I needed

Fits my breastpump perfectly! And have a couple extra for next time.

After 2 months of round the clock pumping, I noticed that my output decreased and I was getting continual clogged ducts. Changed out the membranes and noticed an immediate improvement. I will probably be replacing them every 2 weeks or so going forward.
I would buy this again.
Work well. Last a long time.
