As a self-professed stroller addict, I'm almost disappointed at how much I LOVE this stroller. I keep looking for reasons to get a new, fancier-looking, Zooper stroller, but I just can't justify the purchase.I originally had a Graco Quattro travel system. We used it for about a year, and overall it was nice, but it was HUGE. It barely fit in my trunk, and it hurt my back to lift it up there. I THOUGHT that was my only complaint. After purchasing a series of smaller strollers (including the Peg Perego Aria, which I HATED), I finally settled on the Metrolite. Once I used it, I couldn't believe I had been trying to avoid it, it restored my faith in Graco.First, it's EXTREMELY easy to maneuver. I mean REALLY easy. I can EASILY push it one-handed as I try to talk on my cell phone, or open doors, etc. I didn't realize how hard my Quattro was to push until I had to use it (we gave it to my sister who babysits for us) again after getting used to my Metrolite. I couldn't believe how hard the Quattro was to steer/turn in comparison. My son is 2 years old, 36.5 inches tall, weighs 29 lbs and is still extremely comfortable in this stroller. The adjustable handlebar is probably my favorite feature. I'm not short (5'6), but I hated the height of the other handles. I love that I can put this one lower, and that my husband can still have it higher.I also love the parent cupholders. They are plenty big enough to hold whatever drinks/snacks I'm buying. I do wish it had a little cubby for keys/cell phones like the Quattro, though. The snack tray for my son was a MUST. We're on the go a lot, and I'm always giving him little snacks. My ONLY complaint here is that the cup holder is a little small, and most of his sippy cups don't fit. It's not really a big deal, though, because he just sits in next to him.I also LOVE the size of the storage basket. I can fit EVERYTHING I need in there. HUGE diaper bag, purse, and plenty of shopping bags. If I stuff it too much, I have to do a little maneuvering to get it out, but nothing I can't handle. The folding isn't quite as intuitive or easy, as the Quattro, but I wouldn't classify it as a problem, either. As long as I make sure the front wheels are facing forward, it's a breeze, although I wish it had a better locking mechanism, as it occassionally comes unlocked when I don't want it to (ONLY while folded, it's NEVER folded on my son). The smaller size while folded, VASTLY makes up for the differences in folding from the Quattro. We've had this stroller about a year now, and I see no signs of wear/tear, other than a little browning on the white part of the canopy, which is my OWN FAULT for leaving it out in the rain.We travel by airplane a LOT, and have had no damage resulting from their rough handling. The seat/tray are wide enough that I can simply set my huge Britax carseat on top of it, and wheel it around the airport, instead of having to carry it on my back. It doesn't clip on or anything, but it's plenty sturdy, in my opinion. The sun canopy is fairly large, but I do wish it had the double ratcheting feature that my Quattro had, so I could push it all the way forward and shield my son while he's sleeping. I do like the window, though. It's also MUCH easier to fit through narrow store aisles than my Quattro. The same could be said for the PP Aria I bought, but it had NO features, and was HORRIBLE when it came to maneuverability. The Metrolite was the real winner here.Honestly, my only complaints are things that I knew prior to purchasing (seat is not reversible so baby can face me, doesn't look 'fancy'), and my only REAL complaint is that I now have no way to convince my husband to get me a fancy [$] stroller, because this one works so well! The price was unbeatable, and it's worth every penny!

[...] I travel a lot and we have a VW Jetta so we wanted something that wasn't too big but that also reclined back for our daughter to be able to sleep when we went out, etc. The stroller is great for all of those features - it reclines really well, my daughter likes sleeping in and riding in it, the colour is ok, the cupholders, etc are nice and the storage bag at the bottom is really roomy but hard to get to when she is reclined all the way. Folding it is really awkward, especially when you have a baby in your arms, it is VERY big and BULKY. I travelled alone with my daughter to visit family and it wouldn't fit in the trunk of the Jetta with my two suitcases, then when I got home it wouldn't fit in my mother's BMW (both sedans but both have roomy trunks) - so it had to ride in the front seat while I rode in the back. Then when I got on the plane, all the parents folded their strolles and gave them up plane side, mine they had to take away to the bottom of the plane and I didn't get it back until I picked up the suitcases at my final destination - thank goodness I had my baby bjorn on me but I had a 6 hour lay-over, how fun with a baby hanging from you the whole time! So - it is a nice stroller if you have an SUV and don't plan on travelling much and can be ok with the fact that it is a pain to fold (but dooable). I'm dissapointed and now that I am moving back to the US considering whether I will bother travelling with it or not - might just abandon it in the UK and buy something different. Oh I almost forgot - I went to a store and the back wheels are set pretty widely and I couldn't fit into one of the aisles, I had to leave my mom with the baby while I shopped for what I needed in that aisle, not exaclty convenient. It is light weight and durable though, when I was trying to put it in the trunk while I was running late and my daughter was crying in her car seat I picked it up with one hand in a fit of frustration and tossed across the parking garage - it was fine and so was my arm!

Comments about Graco MetroLite Stroller - Birkshire:

just to add (after reading some other reviews) - the straps of the stroller itself ARE too big for a newborn. But I found it more convenient to just snap the car seat out of the car and on the stroller - most of the times we take the car anyway. Actually, even when I am just walking around the neighborhood, I still use it with the car seat because 1) the two canopies shield her completely from sun or wind or light rain, 2) the car seat allows her to ride facing me - the stroller only faces outward, which I guess will be more fun for her anyway by the time I will stop using the car seat, 3) the added weight of the car seat provides me with a little more exercise pushing it up our hills))))))))

Comments about Graco MetroLite Stroller - Birkshire:

I bought this stroller after quite an extensive research, and it it great. Actually, after I ordered it BRU had a big fat discount on Stylus travel system, so I bought that too, and decided to compare - the savings were too attractive. But after I compared them, I stayed with this one. It is SO MUCH LIGHTER! Actually, it is just so light! The stylus I could barely lift up with both hands - this one I easily pick up with one. Every time I get it in and out of my SUV I pat myself on the back for foregoing the discount and getting a better stroller. It folds easily and lies flat - which I like, as it allows me to put it on top of the stuff and put stuff on top of it, so it basically lives in the car. The storage basket is fine, it has to be opened and closed, so that's an extra step when getting something, but all the rest of the time all the mess it contains is neatly out of sight. LOVE the little locks for the carseat. The stylus and a lot of other Graco strollers come with awkward strappy thingys to secure the carseat, the swiveling locks are so much more logical and secure. The front wheels do not really lock as they are supposed to - that is my only disappointment, but there again I never really needed to lock them as I do not try to jog with it. All in all - we are very happy with it, we've been using it almost every day for 5 months, it goes everywhere, it is light and easy and by the way just pretty.

It is easy to put together and light.
I was very disappointed by the information on the website that states it is compatible with ALL Graco carseats. That's not true! It is compatible only with two types, which we discovered after purchasing and assembling the stroller - see the actual manual.
Also, it is true that this stroller is not most suitable for newborns. The lowest setting still makes the baby sit up a bit. We'll have to use additional head support to make sure it works for the first 3-4 months.

I LOVE THIS STROLLER/CAR SEAT! I'm a small built woman so i was really worried about her car seat being heavy but this is perfect. The wheels are nice and big and i love that it can adjust for taller men and women. Im 5'11 and i have the handle all the way up and i have no problems with it. It is a little hard to adjust the straps as they grow but you only have to do that 3 times :) nice big basket to store stuff and its easy to open and close.

I picked out this product for our first child, it's a beautiful stroller and has some very nice features. For example, if you have the seat laying back all the way, then the compartment under the stroller folds down for easy access to whatever you have stored under there! My husband assembled it and the only thing he had trouble with was putting the wheels on. [...]Overall I am very pleased with this product!

Comments about Graco MetroLite Stroller - Birkshire:

We bought this stroller because we live in the city and wanted something that would be sturdy enough to handle bad city sidewalks. This stroller had great reviews for that. I believe those reviews were well deserved. We took out stroller out for a stroll and it did well. It has nice wheels and a strong frame. I saw people say the basket wasn't big enough for them. Maybe they just have larger diaper bags than mine but it has enough room for my diaper bag and a stuffed animal. I loved the color. The only things we saw that we would say were bad about the stroller was that we thought the seat would recline to a flat position and its actually like 90% flat. I think its still ok. The second bad thing is that the latch for holding the stroller together when folded is weak. I can see it breaking because there is just one latch and the stroller would have been great with two.
