I had high hopes for this product! Unfortunately, I have two things working against me. A, I am in the "it doesn't stick to my table group" and B, it doesn't work with the hook on high chairs. (at least mine). It is too cumbersome to pull the high chair off and put it underneath the table handles, and the suction cups won't hold to go over the table handles. Sooo, for us, it only works when my daughter is too hungry to realize that she can pull it off. That being said, I do love this product. We do still use it, though not as effectively as we hoped. It does work at some restaurants, given the type of table...again, the suction cups require a super smooth surface to stick the most effectively. Wood grain tables are not compatible. I really like the tray that prevents food from falling in the lap. That was genius. Anyway, If you have a smooth table top, I highly recommend it! But if you have a hook on high chair, it will not function the way it is designed to function.

I had high hopes for this, but it looks like I fall into the "won't stick to the table group". I'm actually quite jealous of those who have no problems, because it really is a great idea. We have the stokke high chair which pulls up to the table so I thought this would be the perfect solution, but my 9 month old just pulls it off the table in the first few seconds. It does stain easily too.

I love the idea of this product. We bought it to take to restaurants so our daughter could feed herself. After only a handful of times, it stopped staying suctioned to the table. Thought it was because we had put it in the dishwasher. After handwashing it a few times, it still won't stick. Now only one or two suction cups stay suctioned so it is pretty much useless.

I don't know how this has 4 stars... I started using this when my daughter was 5 months old and able to sit in a high chair at a restaurant on her own well enough. However, she was clever enough to try and pick it up off the table - and she did so with NO problem whatsoever. I haven't found a single table it sticks to very well without coming up easily. It also deformed pretty easily in my car just after 1 day of leaving it in there (given, it was hot - but just a few hours?). Almost completely deformed, won't stick - about to throw it in the trash.

This is one of my favorite items! We don't leave home without it. We started using it as soon as my daughter was sitting up in restaurant highchairs because she would want to bite the table. My 22 mth. old is still using it. I love it! We constantly have waiters, patrons, etc. asking where we bought it.

I absolutely LOVE this mat! We use it for every meal, even at home. My son is 3, and we've used it daily for three meals a day and we haven't had any of the problems described by some of the other reviewers. The suction cups have always stayed put, the non-skid mat ensures that dishes/bowls don't slide around, the little tray-like feature captures dropped food and keeps it off my son's lap, and we haven't had any wrinkle/fold issues. My thought is that the reviewer who had that problem may have had a defective mat. I have only hand washed it, however, so I'm not sure how it would hold up in the dishwasher even though it says it is dishwasher safe. The only con is that it does stain easily, mostly with tomato sauce. After a few washings, however, the stains fade completely. We stopped bringing this with us to restaurants as it has become part of our at-home routine. We are expecting another baby in the next month and we will certainly be getting a second mat, if not a third.

Apart from using this placemat at the table, we also place it in the bottom of the kitchen sink when bathing my 8 month old. It provides a non-skid surface which her bum can stick to and covers the drain stopper. We use this daily!

This was a buy-one-get-one I found at Babies R Us that I thought I would try...and I swear by these placemats now! They are awesome! Suction cups stick to most every table surface, easy to clean, and keeps my baby from chewing on nasty dirty restaurant tables.

Very handy item to have when you eat out with a toddler. The placemat provides a nice barrier from whatever is on the table and it is easy to clean. I keep it in my diaper bag.

Very useful! Get compliments on it all the time! WOuldn't know how to eat out without it! Great product! I actually give them as gifts to all my expecting mother friends and family!
