Broke, don't even bother
By Tutsy from Ohio on 2/5/2010
Cons:
Difficult to Clean, Unsafe
Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Summer Infant Soothing Spa and Shower:

This is a piece of junk. The spa part never worked right out of the box, and the sling broke after 3 months. The company replaced both pieces, and 2 months later both are broken again.

Comments about Summer Infant Soothing Spa and Shower:

I was very excited to have this tub. It looks cute... I initially liked the temperature gauge on the spa hook up and still do. But overall this turned out a dud. As a newborn my baby just kept slipping off the infant bath sling. I could never get the spa spray or bubbles to work properly (or like I'd imagine them to work). It has only been useful now at 9 months for her to sit in and I can save water by not having to fill up our bath tub. Even so, I have to place a towel in it to keep her from slipping. All other accessories are just "there". Overall, I wished I would just purchased the least expensive tub. Save your money.

WASTE OF MONEY!
By First time mom from Reno, NV on 2/3/2010
Cons:
Difficult to Assemble, Difficult to Clean, Difficult to Dry, Expensive, Flimsy, Unsafe, WASTE OF MONEY
Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Summer Infant Soothing Spa and Shower:

I should have read the reviews before buying this bathtub. It's horrible and a huge waste of money. My baby was sliding all over the baby sling, the piece of metal to keep the sling up came out. The $20 whale of a tub is a so much better than this expensive piece of junk!

Do not buy this product
By Candace, mom of 2 from Folsom, CA on 2/3/2010
Describe Yourself:
Parent of Two or More Children
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Summer Infant Soothing Spa and Shower:

I have now gone through 2 of these tubs. I noticed a watery orange color dripping from the sling and realized the bar that the sling is attached to had started to rust in 2 different spots. I returned it for a new one and have just noticed the same thing has happened again. Also, the sling itself gets a horrible moldy smell to it almost every time the tub is used.

Pros:
The idea is nice
Cons:
Difficult to Assemble
Best Uses:
Bathing, Toddlers
Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Summer Infant Soothing Spa and Shower:

I am a first time mom and I thought this was perfect, give my baby a spa day! But this tub is horrible, it doesn't work, it is actually made so poorly and happens to be complicated to put together. The back support is dangerous and un- helpful, I ended up supporting my child with my arm. As he got older I just use the bath-tub portion, so the extra parts are just in the way. Save your money and get your kid a simple bath tub.

Comments about Summer Infant Soothing Spa and Shower:

So...I was so excited when I saw this tub in the store. I envisioned my little girl having a spa experience for her very first bath. That wasn't the case. For lack of a better expression, the product sucks. It doesn't make bubbles and I couldn't seem to get the sprayer to work. And she keeps sliding down the newborn sling. On top of that, the fabric that makes up the sling is a pain to keep clean. The only good thing about the product is the little sticker in the inside that indicates how much water you should fill the tub with.

Convenient for the first few months
By Working mother from FL on 1/28/2010
Pros:
Easily Assembled, Lightweight
Best Uses:
Bathing, Infants, Preemies
Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Summer Infant Soothing Spa and Shower:

The tub was perfect for my child up to 7 months, and it was a great way to teach him to sit in the tub w/the thing behind him so if he fell back he wouldn't get hurt. However, we never once used the spray attachment, I kind of think it is a waste.

By jojo first time mom from new york, new york on 1/28/2010
Pros:
Lightweight
Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Summer Infant Soothing Spa and Shower:

I was never able to use the spa part of the tub because i could not get all 6 batteries to line up straight in a circle. There is nothing to keep the batteries from falling down! Ridiculous! I used the sling when my baby was a newborn and now I just use the bathtub inside my bathtub. The directions were unclear also. I wish I read the reviews before registering for this!

Comments about Summer Infant Soothing Spa and Shower:

This was the very first thing I put on my registry when I was pregnant. I was so excited to use it. My son was born November 13, 2009 and I started bathing him in it around 2 weeks and I only used the tub (which is really cute). It comes with a little lounger thing which really should have a harness of some sort so your kid doesn't slide down!...But anyway…the other day I figured I would hook up the bubble maker hose thing (whatever it's called) since he loves his baths so much this would make it so much more fun! So here is my issue with this product...
1. I couldn't even open the part where the batteries went and needed to break out some tools which was a pain. It takes a ridiculous amount of batteries (6 C's).
2. Once I got all the batteries in the large component didn't fit on my counter top along with the tub.
3. The sprinkler action required some "Superman" strength to get the water to come out and when it did it wasn't enough to wash the bubbles off my poor baby.
4. The best part of the tub should be the bubbles. Unfortunately this thing just makes a water jet (no bubbles). My son loved sticking his feet on it (I think it gave him a massage). He did manage to spray me with water when he stuck his toe on the jet which made me laugh.
-By about the 5th minute of trying to use this bulky awkward contraption I tossed it to the side. My water faucet works way better for rinsing my son. My son also makes bigger bubbles passing gas in the water than that bulky contraption did in the 5 minutes it was hooked up...In conclusion...just don't...save your money!
