I've tried the Diaper Genie at friends' houses and found it hard to use. The Diaper Dekor is really easy by comparison. I like that it has a foot pedal to open the top and you don't have to touch the pail at all. It keeps the odors well contained (we use the original white liner, not the biodegradable one). The inside of the pail itself does get stinky, but you only smell it when you empty the pail. I put a baking soda deodorizer inside on the bottom and it seems to help.

This has functioned very well. We received it off our registry and have used it for the first 5 months of my son's life as well as all our visitors. It took a few minutes to figure out the bags and cutting system, but now I love it! I also like that once diapers are gone - it will just be a normal trash can.

This was recommended to me by a friend. And at the beginning I liked it. But as my baby has gotten older and his poopies have gotten stinkier you have to hold your breath every time you throw away a new diaper because as soon as the shoot opens you get an aweful wiff. And it smells when you walk by it. I just ended up buying the diaper genie II elite. Hoping that will take care of this problem.

For anyone saying , "Oh my gosh, it stinks!" Ummmm, news flash: It's a trashcan filled with poop! There is no trashcan on earth that is going to completely get rid of the stink.

I happen to love this diaper pail. You don't have to buy the refills for it, you can put regular tall kitchen bags in it! To help reduce any smell, we put any poop diapers into these green diaper sacks (also available on this site) and then tie them and toss them in the pail. They are powder scented and really keep it from smelling! We have no problems with poppy diapers and smell.

For the first year we used this, it was amazing. NO baby diaper smell, even when it had upwards of 20 diapers in at one time. Now that my daughter is 12 months old, the magic is gone. No matter what I spray in it or how long I air it out, it smells. I would still say that I got my money's worth out of it, but was hoping it would last for a 2nd child. I would probably rebuy this for baby #2 because the ease of use appeals to me more than the diaper genie. Refills cost $$ but they last a long time. In one year I only used 2.5 boxes.

I purchased this product because I had been told by the sales person that it was their 'top pick' and a very popular one. It did work well (like other reviewers said) for the first couple of months. However, after about 3-4 months it started to stink really badly. I had to spray it with lysol and bleach, and now the door that 'seals' in the smell doesn't close at all. It never really closed very well from the beginning to be honest. There is no way for it to seal in the smell. I had a Diaper Genie with my first son and that worked for much longer. Now I am going to try the Arm-n-Hammer one, hopefully that one works for longer. It's much cheaper anyway! My Diaper Dekor is going in the garbage!

My son and his wife and newborn grandson are temporarily living with me and we really appreciate the convenience of fluctuating the size of the bag with no restrictions of small or large as the pail will hold both very well. There is absolutely no odor since the design of the pail closes off all contact and odor. You never have to touch the diapers when emptying the bag as the bag is tied off on the bottom and cuts off very easily at the top for tying and disposal. The bag insert that came with the pail lasted exactly 1 month, which is very convenient and the replacement bags are located on many websites.

Love it because it is easy to use and holds a lot. It doesn't exactly keep odors out 100% but I don't really know if any diaper pails do...It does for the most part though.

I bought this product because my sister-in-law had the original diaper dekor and loved it. This newer one is horrible, it didn't not keep the smell concealed so my daughter's room always smelled like dirty diapers. The flap that is suppose to close is not airtight and broke after only a few weeks. We ended up throwing this away and buying a diaper genie, it is much better!

We brought our beautiful daughter home and had this product in our bedroom for 3 months. Worked great and totally contained the smell. We then moved her into her nursery. By the time she was 6 or 7 months old, her room started to smell like dirty diapers. She is now a year old and decided I couldn't take the smell any longer and threw it away. The minute you open the lid you will start smelling it, then it lingers in the room. I don't think it's worth the money.
