I started out using the Medela milk storage bags and thought they were just fine. They were a little rigid and didn't seem to stack well in the freezer, but I didn't pay it any mind.I bought some Lansinoh nursing pads that came with a few samples of their milk storage bags and decided to try them and was so pleased with how much better they worked for me. Since the bags are softer and more pliable, it made for easier stacking. I lay them on their side and squeeze the air out so that they are flat like a waterbed mattress and freeze them that way. Once they're frozen, I can stack them upright and they fit right up against each other very well. I went back and tried it with the Medela bags, since they are, in fact, a little heavier bag, but they wouldn't flatten very well which still left me with the stacking problem. The only time I've had leaks in my Lansinoh bags is when I've put the bag on the stove in a pot of water to thaw and let the bag sit in the pot and touch the sides too long~ it springs a leak that way. Now I know to hold the bag and swirl it around the same way as when I mix the milk in the bottles. Otherwise, I love these things and highly recommend them to save space. They also hold a little bit more milk than the Medela bags.

At first I loved these bags- I have over 50 bags of milk in my freezer. A couple of weeks ago I filled a bag with 4 oz of milk, set it down on the counter so I could fill 3 more. I look back and there is breastmilk all over my counter. I pick up the bag and it's leaking! It was completely sealed at the opening as there was no milk coming gout. It was right under the seal of the bag. I was pretty upset because by the time I noticed, I had lost over half an ounce of breastmilk, which as all mother's know, is liquid gold. I thought for sure it was my fault, so I poured the milk in a new bag, threw that one out, and moved on. This morning, I had 5 bottles of milk in my refrigerator to bag up and freeze from the past few days of pumping. The very first bag I used leaked another HALF OUNCE. The second bag I used started leaking, I found the source, and stopped it in time. I bagged both of those bottles, started a third and it was fine. I started bagging the fourth bottle and THAT LEAKED TOO. At this point I had had enough. I lost milk from 3 out of 5 bottles of breastmilk. I took out a whole new pack of bags and bagged the milk, checking each bag before use. I feel like I shouldn't need to make sure a BREASTMILK bag leaks before I put BREASTMILK in it!! That's the whole point! I'm more than upset that I've lost over an ounce of milk from these bags. I know it doesn't seem like that much, but when I'm only pumping 2 ounces from each breast, giving up a night feeding and giving formula so I can stockpile milk for my return to work, over an ounce is too much milk to lose. I'm very disappointed and I truly don't believe these storage bags are "the strongest breastmilk storage bags on the market." This bag was 6.5 ounces of milk originally, but I used 4 ounces of water to show. All of the other bags were 3-4 ounces. The video is using the bag I used for the milk, but with green food coloring and water to show where the leak is coming from and was on all of the bags.

Comments about Lansinoh Laboratories Lansinoh Breast Milk Storage Bags - 50 Count:
Lansinoh has always been our go to breast milk storage bags. No leaks and holds in the freshness! I love the places to keep track of dates and times so that I always know how fresh the milk is and when the proper "expiration" date should be. Easily a 5 star product!

We froze many bags in the first few months of our baby's life to store up for now (4 months later). The past five times we have pulled bags from the freezer the bottoms had expanded so much there was a hole (we store the milk flat so this shouldn't have happened.) we have lost about 10 oz. of milk to leakage these past 5 days. You're right about breastmilk being invaluable. This is truly heartbreaking.

New leak discovered in reinforced bags

About Me First Time Parent
I had a previous review from 22 Aug 16 about the leakage flaw of the precious design. My bags were replaced by the company with the new reinforced seal design bags. For the past month or so, I've had no leakage issue, unfortunately, until I discovered a leak and then two yesterday. The elk again was in the thawing process. The bags are layer flat in the freezer once I add milk, and for the thawing, I just had them again lying flat in the sink, to allow for a natural thaw using no hot water to quicken the process. To my surprise, 8 came back a few hours later and all the milk that was in the bag was gone.Luckily, thus far I have only discovers leakage in (2) bags. There serial numbers are 16131D05:59 and 16131D06:09.

I have tons of breastmilk stored up. Though its very frustrating when I go to thaw out milk bags and some of them leak from the bottom. I don't quite understand why these bags are leaking. As hard as i work to get a storage of milk it really sucks for my milk to leak out.
Not the same quality as 3 yrs ago

About Me Education Oriented, Parent of Two or More Children, Working Parent
I have 2 children & exclusively pumped with both. With both children I was able to build up a frozen supply (3 months worth & 6 months worth) & used lansinoh bags. My 2nd is 9 months old & we have been defrosting milk for about 2 months now. 50% of the bags we are defrosting have leaks in them. No matter how careful we are with defrosting they still end up with holes in the bottom of the bag. I have lost/ had to disgard 100s of oz of breast milk. With my 1st child we never had issues of leaks in the bags. We froze them the same way, stored them the same way(very carefully) in the exact same deep freezer & defrosted them the same way(sitting out/in the refrigerator/in cool water). I can thing of no other explanation in the change of the quality of the bags other than they are not being made of the same quality of plastic they were 3 yrs ago. Any breastfeeding mother knows how frustrating/heartbreaking it is to lose breastmilk. I had such a good experience with this product with my 1st child that I had no reservations about spending a little extra money again & using it a 2nd time. Unfortunately I now have 4 months of milk stored in them.
Leak when thawing

These have leaked multiple times when thawing out in my bottle warmer ruining so many ounces of breast milk! I will not use these or purchase them again.

About Me Parent of Two or More Children
I bought these for my second child's milk because I used them for my first child and had no problems, that I know of anyway. I was a working mom then so my sitter defrosted the milk. Now I stay home and 5 out of 10 bags have leaked. When frozen flat it expanded and created a small hole in the bottom corner of the bag and when milk is defrosted it leaks out very quickly. I have lost over 15oz of breast milk A.K.A.liquid gold and I am so mad at this product.

please go back to other material!

I really liked the old style material better - i didn't have any issues with it. This new design is so hard to get the air out of the bag it could be the new material - i dont think it's the same material.
Good milk down the drain!!!
My mom takes care of my son through the week and at least once a day she sends me a picture or a text of wasted milk due to holes in these bags. It's quite frustrating spending the time to pump and the money to store it just to see it wasted. My sister and sister in law both have had to throw milk out due to the same issues and that was with the old design however, this "new & improved" design doesn't seem to be any better from my experience. I don't know the ratio of good to bad bags but when 4-5oz of milk has to be thrown out each day it doesn't really seem to matter much. Time to find a new way to store all my milk!
Best milk storage bags
These are the best milk bags. Easy to use and label. They freeze and thaw well. Have never leaked.
