This is something my son wanted for christmas..I personally had not experienced these braclet making sets before and neither had he.....it does seem very time consuming to start...I sat down what seems like forever and tried to follow the directions, which to me were very hard, and had to give up so I could concentrate again on it later. When I did sit back down, I found the instructions on how to make a simple braclet on the back of the instruction book, a place you would not have thought it would be. Because on one whole side of paper is how to make harder braclets, but I think the simplier one is the one everyone needs to get down first. ..so check full instruction sheet before you begin lol. So as of now, it's 3 days after christmas and ive only made one braclet and when I find the energy, I'll sit back down and attempt it again. I think once I've gotten the simplier one down without following directions, the other ones will come easier. My son is 9 and could not do it because he could not follow the directions...they are not the best explainatory ones I've seen on a toy lol. And until I can get it down, will I try and help my son and explain it to him in a simplier way. If your kid can do this, that is awesome. But it was hard for me but hopefully with practice will get easier. These are popular right now in school so I want to learn it for my son. They even have some books out there that show you how to make different designs along the braclet besides a straight line. And for starters also, to make a band that will fit your child (with small wrists like my son), you probably shouldnt go all the way to the end of the plastic piece with bands. When you start, you'll know what I mean... (stop at number 30 or something instead of all way to number 42 or something on end). Hope this helps. :)

I bought this for my 9 year old son because he had been wanting one for a while. However, making any kind of bracelet turned out to be much more difficult than it looked. The directions are very unclear! In fact, the directions seem to be incomplete. We worked on making the waterfall bracelet for hours. We had to take it apart multiple times. I read and reread the steps for the directions, but they are simply incomplete. I ended up being able to make it, but only after problem solving on my own to figure out what the next (missing) steps must be. While these bracelets are great, they REALLY need to improve the directions on this product.

About Me Parent Of Two Or More Children, Stay At Home Parent
This was a gift for my 9yo son and he loves it! He opened it immediately and started making bracelets for the whole family. Now that he has the "easy" bracelet pattern figured out, he's moved on to more difficult patterns. It comes with directions for 3 different patterns. Which means we get a new color/pattern bracelet to wear everyday!
My kids love it!
