Although my baby girl is not here yet I think this changing table is going to be very useful. All the drawers and shelves will come in handy and I like the space on top for diapers and wipes. I also like that it can be just a dresser too. The only bad part was the assembly. It came in a million pieces and it took my husband and I forever to put this together, and we're pretty good at putting things together. Most steps were easy but time consuming and there were a few steps that were impossible, we had to modify them a bit for them to work. If you don't want to spend six hours putting this together I would not recommend it but if you don't mind being a little frustrated putting this together then it is worth it because the end result is pretty nice. But it is not a real wood product.

I love to assemble furniture so the idea and actual experience of putting the many pieces together, hand blisters notwithstanding, was not a deterrent going in or particularly upsetting after the experience. The picture of the finished product swayed me, as it undoubtedly did others, to buy this product. Once assembled, it fit very nicely in my baby, now toddler's room - thus the 2 stars. The reason why this product is not getting five stars ... a) As so many other reviewers have so truthfully indicated, it takes a long time to assemble and the number of pieces to put together are just too numerous, compared to other furniture pieces I have assembled so far. In my case it took over 2 weeks to assemble this product simply because two essential pieces were missing. This is not the first time it has happened to me with a South Shore product so one would think I would learn my lesson but I really wanted a white changing table and this seemed to fit the bill. I had to get in touch with the manufacturer, call every day to check it was in-transit since my child was due in a few weeks time and the items I was dreaming of putting in it were still sitting in their shopping bags. [...]. Inconvenient and a complete let-down experience. b) Not all holes are present on the pieces as they should have been or where they should have been. Instead of simple assembly, my husband and I found ourselves doing full carpentry work drilling holes and measuring where to put the holes on some of the pieces. c) Since I have used the assembled product for over a year now, I have a perspective on maintenance, for those enthusiasts who will still buy or just started using it. Be assured, that your work is not done after the initial assembly. The door, for example, will come out constantly so be ready to do a lot of hammering it back in place over the course of its use. Once your baby is a toddler, can walk and starts trying to open and close stuff, you may be highly tempted to just throw the door away completely or risk it crushing on his/her toes. Putting a safety latch is problematic because not only is there no clear area to actually put it or do so without marring the product, the structure is not sturdy enough to inspire confidence that it can withhold any additional hammering job since just hammering in the door makes the side of the whole structure loose. For some reason, the door just does not stay put and it was the case for us, as it was for other reviewers, that getting it in right the first time was an issue. Our latest attempt to keep the door intact longer and safe around our toddler was to put super glue in the holes before hammering it in; however since the glue dried up too quickly before we could hammer the door in all the way, it is skewed. Next time the door falls out, we have agreed to simply dispose of the whole product permanently. Overall summary: good-looking product for a baby's nursery but not good quality enough to make it worth the upfront effort of assembly AND required maintenance to keep it safe for use over any significant period of time. Good luck.

Provides great storage for baby's clothes and items needed for changing baby.
I cannot say how great it is when changing the baby as we are still waiting for baby to arrive! It takes hours to assemble - there are 43 steps, many pieces, so give yourself at least 4 hours! It is very heavy, but a good product. I wish that some of the pieces were already assembled.

it took my husband 5 hours to put this together due to its lack of instructions and lack of holes on the furniture. You have to drill your own holes and guess where the nails go because it does not come marked. The screws don't come numbered or labeled so you have to guess where to use each one. Tons of pieces to out together that's why my husband called it legos for adults. Once finished it looks absolutely beautiful and worth the 5 hours to assemble

Comments about South Shore Furniture South Shore Cotton Candy Changing Table - Pure White:

We finally decided to purchase a dresser and liked the look and color of this dresser/changing table. We just received it this week and its still not put together because it takes forever to assemble. Upon getting the frame together we found that the dimensions are NOT what was in the product description so it doesn't fit by the wall we wanted to use. After checking to make sure the length was 40 (assembled) we got the dresser and its actually length 48. None of the other measurements match the product description as well. We now have to reconfigure our whole nursery because our baby is due and its too much of a pain to take apart and ship back. Needless to say I am so unhappy with this product and never should have bought it. I should have gone with my gut and purchased the more expensive one I wanted.

I absolutely love how this changing table turned out! It is sturdy and worth the money in my opinion. It definitely takes time to put together but we didn't have a problem with the instructions. They are a bit confusing but after you look at the pics a few times you can figure it out. I will stress the assembly is time consuming, took my husband and I roughly 6 hours to put together. I love that the changing topper is easy to remove and the dresser portion can easily be used in any room if needed. I got this because it has lots of storage so it really works out for me! Overall I'm very happy with the product. I would recommend this if your looking for a dresser/changing table.

Good thing my husband is a carpenter. It still took him about 5 hours to put the entire thing together, not including the time he spent gluing one of the sides to reinforce it because it came cracked. If it was just me putting this thing together, I don't think I could have gotten the door and everything to align. Now that it's all together, it looks just... meh.
