Great crib, very sturdy. We experienced no problems in assembly or in lowering the crib. We have moved it twice in the 2 years we have had it and it is still as sturdy as when first assembled. I love the look of the crib, bought the low dresser as well and it looks great in my son's room. I know that they have heavy as a con, it does weigh a bit however I am able to easily move it myself to clean behind or look for missing pacifiers, I think the weight adds to the stability and is evident of the quality.

We bought this set in 2010... thought the conversion kit would convert to the toddler stages, then to a full... well, BRU misinformed us (the kit we have only makes it into a full) and here we are 2 years later looking for the toddler rail. Well, GOOD NEWS!!!
Although it IS true that this line has been discontinued, Baby Cache WILL make sure you get what you need. You can go through BRU to do a "special order" and if you have any issues, call Baby Cache directly. They were more than helpful!! They responded & took care of everything for us right away! Hope this helps others in my position, cause after reading other reviews, I was worried the toddler rail search would be a dead end!

I bought this crib for my daughter two years ago and ordered the conversion kit about 6 months. I noticed that a lot of people are saying it is no longer available. We are in the process of converting my daughter's crib to a full size bed, and I've been shopping for creative ways to keep the bed height low for her. The manufacturer recommends that you use a low profile box spring with the mattress on this bed frame. In an effort to go without a box spring, I found a steel bed frame that you could attach a headboard and footboard to. You have to buy the brackets separately, but it can be done. You can go without purchasing the conversion kit for this bed. All they provide you with are the two wooden side frames for the left and right side of the bed. In addition it costs $220 for the conversion kit and $100 or less for a steel bed frame which can be used without a box spring. I hope this helps someone. Especially disappointed individuals who really wanted to be able to convert the crib to a bed.

Bought this bed because of the better quality wood used and it has held up nicely. We would buy this again. We also purchased the conversion kits for this bed but haven't used them yet.

I love the look and stability of this crib. But I'm worried I won't be able to find a conversion kit. We forgot to purchase it last December when we purchased the crib. Son is now 9 months old and almost standing up. So I know the
toddler bed won't be far behind. I don't care much if I don't get the adult bed conversion kit but will be greatly disappointed if we can't use this crib for a few years more as a toddler bed. As this will probably be our one and only child :(

Good as a crib, solid hardwood construction. But extremely difficult to obtain the conversion kit/guard rail. You have to call baby cache and get the "item number" and then call babies r us to place the order. After holding for 20 minutes, the babies r us rep told me that the number didn't correspond to anything in their system and after she did an exhaustive search through all the baby cache items in the computer, never found the guard rail or conversion kit. Not sure where to go from here. Baby cache is not picking up the phone at the moment. Long lunch i suppose...

We started using the crib when my son was about 4 mos old. it was easy to set up, sturdy and looks great. We have the dresser too. I may have written a previous post giving it five stars but want to give it 3 stars for the following reasons. The spring frame that holds the mattress does not perfectly fit square with the crib so putting hardware in it is difficult having to pull or push the frame to adjust with assistance. It took me a half hour to lower it the first time and now that I just lowered it to lowest setting the rails of the crib are in the way of the screw holes and you can't get them in without a struggle nor can you use the allen wrench to tighten; the wing nuts are just finger tight. I just spent 40 min all in lowering it. Now the skirt for the bed looks great when the mattress is at the highest point, however the back of the crib does not leave room for the skirt to hang nicely, it is all bunched up because there are bars for the spring frame that holds mattress. Each lower setting of the mattress makes the skirt look worse and finally four inches too long in the front and sides, and have to fold the back side under the mattress for middle and lowest setting. So unless they change the design of the crib save your money on the bed skirt. Get a nice sheet and blanket with a netted breathable bumper and it should look great. Also note that a mobile that attaches to a crib does not work well for this crib due to the curve of the frame and thickness of various parts. My nutrapedic mattress has always been tight fitting but i'm okay with that.

The crib is nice looking and quality. My only problem so far with it is the slats are too far apart and my boy(18 months) legs get stuck in between them and are hard to get out. Somehow he gets his knee or ankle through them but they don't come back out as easily, very painful.
