    I was looking for a barn for my 3 year old who loves animals and noticed that this barn looks different from the other Melissa and Doug barn offered elsewhere for sale. I don't know whether this is a Toys R Us special edition, but I preferred the look of this barn. It seems to have more usable space upstairs (the other one has a smaller upper part) and looks more "barn-like". It also has stand-alone fencing and a movable ladder which the kids like.We got a good sale price from ToysRUs [...] My son loves it and has been playing with his Schleich animals every day. My 1 1/2 year daughter also plays with it. Only thing is that some of the outside wood flaked off, but I don't know whether this is because the kids were picking at it or because the bottom of the barn was slightly rough so some of the wood on the side could be easily peeled off. If this happens often, it could be unsafe for younger kids who might try to eat the sharp flakes of wood/paint.

    I love Melissa and and Doug and bought this online without a worry for my 4 year old. It is made of nice materials, but the construction and finish is poor. The hinge is riveted into the wood, not screwed, and it came apart within one week of use. Also the outside edges of the wood had not been sanded. Overall, it was a disappointment.

      Bought this for my 2-year-old daughter. She already had another fold and go from Melissa & Doug and absolutely LOVES it! Bought her the barn since she is into animals right now. She loves having a home for the animals and having them go in and out of the door. Wish it had a latch to keep it closed when traveling but overall highly recommend it!!

                My girls love playing with this toy! It's a great toy that is the perfect size (smaller than some versions of M&D barns we saw elsewhere). It would be nice if there was a latch of some sort to keep it closed when not in use, but great otherwise.

                    I bought this barn as my 2 1/2 year old daughter's main Christmas gift. I looked at barns online and in stores for a few weeks and I'm so pleased with this one. Everything else was either too big, too plastic-y or too expensive. The bonus is that this one looks just like the barns in our picture books. My daughter and her 5-year-old sister love the ladder and the fencing. The animals are pretty nice, too. This toy is a good value.
