I am a senior trying to learn to play chess. I love the tin that this set came in but plan to put a felt liner in the tin to keep the pieces from ratteling. Love the fact that the pieces are marked with the direction they can move in. It would be nice if these pieces would have been waited and have a solid bottem so they wouldn't seem so flimsy. I am thinking of weighteing them and putting felt on the bottoms to give them more stability.

Purchased this for my 8 year old daughter. We had been trying to teach her chess with a normal set and she was progressing slowly. This set with the name and types of moves allowed on each piece made all the difference. She has become a very good chess player and really enjoys the game. Adults and children can learn to play with this set.
