I purchased this mat a couple of years ago at a big box store for a tiny fraction of what it costs on this site. For the price I paid, the mat is well worth it. We have hard floors and I bought it so my toddler son could play on it without hitting his head on the floor or getting dog hair all over him. My dog at the time, did scratch it some, but I just put clear packing tape over it and cleaned it with antibactierial wipes as needed. We now use it for movie time on the floor or any other reason we may have for keeping a playdough or paint mess contained. Although we don't use it specifically for tumbling, we've gotten a lot of use out of it, and it still has the same cushion and shape as the day we bought it. My son is 3 1/2 now, and we intend to keep it for many more years. It seems to fit whatever purpose we might have for it at any given time.

It is used for eight month old twins to get their rolling and tummy time in. It is nice because it cleans up easily. On the other hand it is quite a bit bigger than is needed for little babies.

Overall this was just what I was looking for. Only two cons really, my cat has already dug his nails into two places (not that I could find a mat that was cat claw resistant) and where the handles are placed on the sides it is reinforced with a hard plastic. I've hit my legs on them and it hurts so I hope my daughter doesn't hit herself on them. I understand why the reinforcing was necessary just wish it was a more pliable plastic. Like I said though overall this product was just what I was looking for. My daughter could be entertained just by the pattern itself but I also put a blanket down with some toys and she is good to go. She has mastered staying seated on this mat and wasn't afraid or hurt when she did fall and hit her head.

My 11 yrs old loves to tumble on it. She and her friends have a lot of fun with it. They also found a new way to use it; folded from top of the stairs down, like a sled. And that is a winner for them :)

My grandchildren were thrilled and started tumbling on the mat right away. They needed to be reminded to open the rest of their Christmas presents. Very colorful. The rest of the test will be to see how well it holds up with use.

I puchased this mat for a very active three-year-old. Anything that lasts more than a week with her is pretty good. The mat appears to be made of a dense foam that holds its shape and gives good cushioning. It may last her for a long time.
