This carseat was a gift for my 8month old son. It is very confortable once it is installed, however it is hard to adjust the seat belt. When the carseat is rear facing, the release button is soooo close against the back seat, it is hard to adjust the belt. The belt is a little loose right now and not sure if that is safe in case of an accident. In addition, in the rear facing position, the carseat does not tilt far enough. When my son falls asleep, his head always fall forward. I would not reccomend this carseat for rear facing position and will be purchasing a different carseat that fits our needs better.

This car seat is not the wine color it is shown in. It is an all black car seat. After receiving it and opening it I brought it back assuming they had just shipped the incorrect one, only to receive another black one. After doing some research on The First Years website did I realize that the Aurora is, in fact, an all black seat, not the wine/grey one shown on this website. I again returned it and plan to order it in the Misty Morning (grey/light blue) hoping that will be shown correctly on the Babies R Us website.

I bought this carseat after being unhappy with another. I was installing rear facing for my 15 month old daughter. It was very difficult to install and the directions were somewhat confusing. Once we figured it out the seat looked great and comfortable. I liked the removable headrest and the material was very soft. Only issue that made me return it was that in the rear facing position it was almost impossible to get to the harness release button. It was right up against the back of the seat. I could not imagine trying to use it everyday. While this is a great seat overall, it is best as a forward facing seat.

We bought this carseat for my son when he outgrew the carrier one, and we loved it so much that we bought a 2nd one for our other car. Been using it about 7 months and it's been great. He rode in it backwards for several months and now has been riding forward for about 2 months. We have it in Cappucino, but the carseat works great for my son.

The seat is very nice and comfortable for my little one and it is very safe. It is big yet fits in our car and he will be able to use it rear facing for a long time with the extra length to it. The only bad thing is it almost impossible to tighten the straps when it is rear facing. The release button and the straps to tighten are very low. And the release button is tripped when you pull up to tighen the straps. I haven't returned it yet, just facing the challenge of tighening it up and trying to figure out an easier way.

It is the first car seat where it actually holds the head steady. No flopping forward or sideways when the baby falls asleep.I love the fact it grows with him.The safety factors are excellent.

My chubby son hated his Chicco infant car seat because he would overheat while in it. After seeing him develop a rash where his skin scratched against the fabric of his car seat, we knew we had to get another car seat. We were looking for a safe & comfortable convertible car seat and decided the best way to figure that out was to have my son try it out while in the store. We put him in several and he looked the most comfortable in this one. We bought it and what a difference it made for our car rides. My son took to it and fell asleep easily with no further heat / sweat -induced rash. This car seat has ventilation in the back. I do have a few issues: As mentioned by the other reviewers, it wasn't the easiest to install, to get it at the right angle. Adjusting the belts in rear-facing mode isn't the easiest because the belt / button is against the seat, but I like how I didn't have to rethread to move the belts higher. Overall, my son has been quite satisfied with this car seat and that's what counts.

my son is a lot more comfortable now than he was in his infant seat, and he's not even 20 pounds yet. The fabric is soft, he is laid out in a more comfortable position and finally we are good to go on longer car rides

We've only had the carseat a few weeks, but so far ease of use has lived up to its reputation! We have to transfer the seat back and forth between our vehicles often. Installation is quick and very EASY! Our son is 8 months old, we had to take out extra padding so he would fit better. His head would slouch otherwise. But now he looks better in the seat. The fabric is very soft, and the height adjustment on the shoulder straps was very simple. Straps are difficult to tighten when the seat is in place while rear facing position. So far thats the only complaint! Would buy again.
