I am lifelong, hard-core "eco-nazi", and I spent months researching every alternative to disposable diapering before my baby was born. Gdiapers, offering both flushable and cloth insert options, have been an absolutely fantastic resource for my baby and our environmentally concious lifestyle! My daughter is 7 months old now and has been a g-baby since she was a month old. (Unfortunately, she was too small at birth to wear the "small" size g-pant, and at the time, the gdiapers website had yet to release the "tiny" g-pants for newborns). We stock 5 g-pants on hand, a dozen nylon liners and have a case of inserts [...] and we couldn't love them more. The g-pants are soft, stylish, durable and stand up to the wash time and time again. The adjustable fit is easy to fasten and comfortable around my little girl's fat baby belly. The nylon liners are an excellent shield, breathable and snap in and out easily. We rarely experience any leaks and no diaper rash! Do understand though, that the liners will usually get dirty during a BM (especially before your baby starts solids); we easily remedy this with a quick premptive, poo-cleansing rinse and then toss the liner in the wash. Extra liners are cheap on the website; we stock lots for easy switches. The flushables themselves are absorbent (yes, we make it easily through the night) and swirl down our commode and through our 100+ year-old plumbing with general ease. (The website is very informative about the art of flushing for those who are unsure. Videos included.)Diaper changes are fast and sanitary; I encounter no problems or hassles changing gdiapers on go either. This system is efficient and it works!! I would recommend them to everyone looking for a better option than 3 tons worth of landfill at 500+ years per diaper. I could wax poetic about gdiapers for as long as anyone is willing to listen! An excellent innovation!

I'm sad to say that I was very exiting waiting for these diapers for long time. [...] But they leak, i have to change my baby very often and still I have to change all his clothes because he's wet every where. I saw the videos many times to see if I was doing something wrong, but is not me! On top of that I spent more time putting the diappers together with the inserts and the plastic... I have to do more washing with them, I don't think that is too eco friendly! So you can imagine how sad I feel, I got to buy many since I live in France and I couldn't get refills very often here, sucha waste of money!!Anyway, I'm goingto get some 100% biodegradables disposables diapers i found here, they are a little expensive, but i don't need to buy too many for now...

Great for older heavy wetters!

Comments about Down to Earth Designs 1010216 gDiapers Newborn/Small Disposable Inserts - 40 Count:

Needed something to add to my son's "bedtime underwear" (think under*ams or good*ights). He is now 8 and has always been a nighttime heavy wetter because he is a heavy sleeper. Tried these after other doublers we used were discontinued. They work great as an insert, can position them in the front for boys, and they stay in place. He does leak through on occasion, but when you have that much liquid, nothing will hold it all. Have been using them for several years, wish I had found them when he was a baby. Tried adult pads, but they have a waterproof layer on the back. Gdiaper inserts allow the liquid to go through it once wet and allow the nighttime underwear to absorb the excess instead of running out the sides. We use the newborn size because the others are too large and bulky inside the nighttime underwear.

We used G diapers with our first, and loved them! Even my husband was upset when we stopped. Currently stocking up for our second arrival, and planning on using the G's as long as possible! Great product, environmentally friendly, easy to use, and just adorable on! The only problem is you'll want to buy every color!

Company claims they are flushable, but they are not. Clogged my sewage pipes all the way out to the city sewer. Had to pay plumber $250 to bring in commercial snake to unclog. They pulled out G diaper after G diaper. And Yes i read the directions on the proper way to flush them. Tear, tear, stir and flush. Never had a problem with waste pipes in the house until g diapers, so it's not like I already had some type of drainage issue.

hese are great if you are looking for a green solution to diapering because these are biodegradable liners and can be flushed down the toilet. However, do not buy if you are looking for a disposable solution to your "G" Diapers because regular disposal diapers are less expensive.

We love the gDiaper system! We use cloth inserts during the day, but you can't beat the disposables for overnight. They are amazingly absorbent and hold up for the 8 glorious hours our sweet baby sleeps at night. The flushability of them is wonderful as well- no stinky diapers waiting for next weeks trash!

these work well for my newborn, but the price has me thinking its best to just go full force into cloth diapering, this has opened me up to how easy that can be. the inserts keep her pee best but the blow out poops are left seeping into the outside diaper. im going to try other brands next but the disposable inserts are always good to know for trips.

Pros - I thought the absorbency of these inserts was decent. The price is comparable to disposable diapers and these inserts are eco-friendly.

Cons - The inserts do bunch up once wet and so I often found an odor on the gDiaper's nylon liner.

I did not like this product. The velocro/elastic closing seemed uncomfortable. Leaving red marks on my baby's skin. Also, almost every time my baby did #2 the plastic protector would leak onto the cloth diaper. The cost of the disposable pads is just as much as disposable diapers.
