    I purchased this for my 2 and a half year old son and he absolutely enjoyed it! He asked me over and over what the name of each bug was, we played a matching game with the pictures on the back of the box and counted the insect legs. It was just as interesting to me as it was for my son. I wish they came out with more bugs.

    My 7 yr.old niece who is facinated by insects really loved this. Having priced other offerings of insects embedded in resin, this was a wonderful deal. Most of the insects are not native to the US, but they are colorful and in great condition. My only disappointment was in the accompanying guide. First, I had hoped there would be more information on each insect. Second, the information was written for a much older child. Third, the only diagram was a bit ambiguous on the classic insect parts. If I had known all of this ahead of time, I'm pretty sure I could have put a better guide together myself (and wished I had). One wonders if the whole guide had been in English if it might have been more comprehensive.

        I'm so glad I "discovered" this. I went to my local Toys-r-Us to use a gift card we'd received for my son's birthday, and since he already has so much, I thought I'd use the gift card to buy Christmas gifts for other kids. I wasn't looking for anything for my son but stopped by the science section anyway (he loves science stuff) and this caught my eye. It was so cool, I bought two, one to gift as a gifts (they had a buy one, get one half off sale).

        As neat as they looked from the outside, the bugs were even nicer when we had the resin blocks in our hands. We could look at them under a microscope or magnifying glass, or even just hold them up to the light. The bugs are in perfect shape (intact), enabling you to see great detail. On a whim, we decided to stack the blocks "pyramid" style and realized that would be a nice way to display them.

        We are so delighted by this product I am going to buy a few more to give as presents and to donate one to my son's classroom.

          GREAT toy! I gave this to my 4 year old for christmas and he screamed when he opened the package. We have spent a lot of time looking at the bugs and looking at videos of the bugs on the internet (looked them up ourselves) while we learn about them. It would be a great home school toy for a curious learner :) My only suggestion is that I wish the book that came with the bugs had more information about the bugs. We had to look up the information online to learn more. Would be nice if it came with

                I bought this for my 7 year old daughter for Christmas because she and my eight year old nephew always like to look for bugs and worms. We all love it! My 3 year old and I like to match the bugs to the pictures on the box too! I like that they can be put back in their own spaces and stored in the original box. I actually just came to the sight to see if they came out with a second set yet (of different bugs) I would definately buy it. A set of Worms or a set of butterflies would be great too! It doesn't matter that all the bugs aren't native to the U.S., They're just cool!

                            Just bought this for my son's 5th birthday this month. He is all into bugs these days. He ABSOLUTELY LOVES this gift. The bugs are easy to see through the plastic with lots of detail. I wouldn't say that the magnifying glass magnifies significantly, but it magnifies enough to see the detail on the bugs. Love it, would definitely buy again. It was his favorite birthday gift.
