My daughter was very excited when she spent her own money to buy the sea monkey kit. We followed the instructions and there were some very small sea monkeys that hatched instantly. However, we forgot to aerate the water and by the third day there was no movement at all. I told her the sea monkeys were dead, and we were both pretty disappointed. She wanted to keep the jar because we planned to try it again, so I didn't empty the water. A few days later, she decided to blow bubbles in for air, and we noticed there were several sea monkeys swimming around! She was so excited, she thought she brought them back to life! I read the directions again, and realized not all of the eggs hatch instantly, it could take 4-6 days for the eggs to hatch dependent upon the water temperature. We have had live sea monkeys for about 10 days now, and they have grown so much, and they are fascinating to watch. Really great product.

I bought these for my grand daughter, as I had these when I was little. We did everything the instructions said to do, and on the third day, they all were dead. What a disappointment! Them to her as a gift, as a learning experience. I bought her an ant farm, and it is doing very good. But now, she thinks I was lying about the sea monkeys. She said, "Grandma, there's no sea monkeys....your silly, grandma" . I told her the were such things as seamonkeys...I had them when I was little too. I was pretty let down and so was she.

I was amazed! Bought these from my grandaughter who is 12 she must have done everything right because we not only hatched out sea monkeys but now at 4 weeks they are mating! OMG we are going to have babies. These are fun and great for any age 1 to 100+.

This is an amazing product my seven year old loves these we watch them every day feed them it just can't get any better only one minor problem though when we first added water it leaked but we replaced it and every thing was better. I would recommend it to anyone so if you wanna teach your child responsibility this is it!

My experience with this product is AWESOME! The packet with live eggs are real, and after I added the water purifier and waited 24 hours, I also added the Sea Monkeys live eggs. My Sea Monkeys have hatched (when 2 days past). I guess the Sea Monkey eggs would hatch faster if the water is 75 degrees. The Sea Monkeys are sometimes hard to see since they're really small and white, but with the magnifying glass (that comes with this product) makes it more easy to see. Five days after my Sea Monkeys hatched, I fed them the packet with food and the Sea Monkey food looks green by the way. This wonderful product, is so far the most educational and fun pet that I ever had , way better than a fish. It's also very entertaining. Too bad this product didn't come with a Sea Monkey aquarium watch so you could take your Sea Monkeys for a walk, but I just bought mine separately since I thought it was cool. Anyway, I hope my Sea Monkeys will always be healthy and live for at least 2 years. In your packet, there should also be a paper with some other stuff for your Sea Monkeys like super growth food or accessories. I love my Sea Monkeys so much and I'm lucky I got it cheap (only [$]).
