The Chicco KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat is designed for safety, comfort and convenience. With its removable newborn insert, the KeyFit 30 Car Seat accommodates babies from 4 to 30 pounds. The thickly cushioned seat includes a 5-point safety harness and is lined with energy-absorbing foam for increased safety and comfort. The base's spring-assisted level foot, 2 precision bubble levels and Center-Pull LATCH adjustment allow quick and correct installation from either side of your vehicle and give you confidence that your child is safely secured in your vehicle. Hassle-free LATCH installation

To install the base using LATCH, simply push LATCH connectors firmly onto the vehicle LATCH anchor bars, and then use the LATCH pull strap to tighten the belts for a secure fit. When not using LATCH, the LATCH connectors and pull strap store in pockets to keep them out of the way.


Easy vehicle belt installation

Installing the base with a vehicle belt is easy too. Simply guide the vehicle belt through the openings in the base, and then buckle and tighten the belt. Secure the shoulder strap firmly into the shoulder belt lock-off, which locks the vehicle shoulder belt in place, ensuring a stable, secure base installation. The KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat can be installed with our without the base using a vehicle belt, and it is certified for use in commercial aircraft.


Recline indicator ensures level base

The KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat's recline indicator helps ensure proper base installation. You can adjust the recline angle with the spring-assisted level foot by pushing the recline buttons while lifting the base. You know the angle is correct when the entire bubble is between the arrows on the indicator.


Listen for the click

Securing and releasing the carrier is easy. Align the carrier with the base and push firmly until you hear a click. To release the carrier, pull the release handle while lifting the carrier out of the base.


Handle locks in 3 positions

The carrier handle has 3 locked positions so you can carry, store and stand the carrier securely. Lock the handle into the carry position for lifting and transporting or to the stand position for steady support on a flat surface. Store the handle when you need it out of the way.

Chicco KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat & Base - Cubes accommodates infants from 4 to 30 lbs. The car seat harness has one-pull tightening & loosening for quick harness fitting. The thickly-padded infant insert gives extra support for a smaller baby around the head, neck, back & bottom. The carrier shell is lined with energy absorbing foam. It features an innovative LATCH management system, easy belt routing and a spring-loaded leveling foot to make the infant car seat installation easy. The "one-pull," centrally located tightening strap has made securing the LATCH attachment simple. The KeyFit base also has wide belt routing loops with a built in belt locking system for vehicles without LATCH. Leveling the base is easy with a spring-loaded leveling foot and easy to read liquid, bubble level guides on both sides of the base. The enclosed underside of base protects vehicle seats from damage. Conforms to "NEW" FMVSS 213. Usage: from 4-30lbs, newborn insert from 4-11lbs.

I love this car seat. It is so safe and strong, and we love that it is ranked safest in Consumer Reports. I don't find it too heavy, but I guess I know it comes with the territory that it will not be light carrying a baby in a seat. We compared it holding other car seats, and it really isn't much different. Knowing it holds up to 30 pounds is worth it. I would definitely buy this again!

I passionately hate this car seat. It is so, so heavy. I have to use my back to hold it, so it's not worth it. I usually pull him out and wake him up so I don't have to carry the stupid car seat. Thus, it takes to of us to go anywhere like the grocery store.

Also, the buckle is extremely difficult. To release it, I have to hold down the button and pull as hard as I can. I've punched my baby in the face TWICE!!!!!

Too bad I can't afford another car seat. This one is the worst. Make sure you're very strong if you buy it.

I got this carseat based on excellent recommendations among other parents. I chose this neutral color as for my 1st baby because I want to be able reuse it for another baby in case if I have a boy. I have a girl and it's very easy to set up. I'm giving it 4 stars because I live in the southern CA and the winter is about 50 to 60 degrees. I don't really dress my daughter warmly because the carseat does keep her warm. One time, I overdressed her (Two layers of onesies) and she was sweaty. I don't recommend if you put a heavy blanket nor two layers of clothes if you're going out for a walk or shopping or things like that. Remember, buildings have heat. It holds up to 30 pounds and I think my daughter will probably use it until she's about 2 years old since she's a petite baby.

Purchased this as our main car seat (also bought chicco stroller) for the safety ratings and the higher weight limit. We've been very happy with it, still using it (our daughter is 15 months). A note for the reviews that talk about it not fitting in shopping cart seats - It doesn't - and no carrier should be - it's a HUGE safety issue!

This car seat was recommended by a friend who's baby was born 3 mos before my son. I checked consumer reports and it is top rated for safety! It's so easy to install and we only got one base and just move it from my truck to my husbands with no problem at all. My favorite feature is the fact that you can push the button at the foot of the seat to lengthen the straps to put the baby in and then pull them tight! It is also a great thing that i can keep my son in the infant seat until he is 30lb and 30 in since he is safer in the infant seat. I would HIGHLY recommend this seat to anyone who is having a baby. I have the "romantic" print which is black and grey.

My daughter just turned one and still fits in this seat. It has been a great seat for our family with our two small cars. My 2 door car needed something that would last a while and we have really gotten our money's worth. My daughter is almost at the height limit so I will be sad when we have to move on to a convertible seat as this one has been great for us. As far as the one negative comment I read, that person probably needed some pros to help install, as I have never had troubles getting seat into place. It is heavy, but I never carried the seat around; I put it in the stroller. I will definitely buy one for future babies!

Like most other reviews on Babies R Us, I agree that it is a VERY HEAVY CAR SEAT and Takes us alot of room in shopping carts! You really need to keep it in your mind that your baby will not always be 5-10ish lbs and you will most likely be taking your baby with you when you shop. I am very happy with the safety rating which is why I got this seat. I should have shopped around more...My son is now 20lbs and Im switching to the Britax Marathon, I cant even imagine carrying this seat when he is 30lbs!

Love this car seat... Easy to install. Use it in the front seat of all shopping carts. Even the small ones at [...]. Fits just fine in my Bob stoller with the infant attachment. My son is 10 mos old and about 21lbs and has plenty of room even with the Bundle Me for the cold weather. Not sure why so many people are high maintenance and complain about everything. This is a great product!

We received a used Graco Snugride from a friend and it was so flimsy and light that I wanted a new one. I checked consumer reports and this was the highest rated, and I can see why. It's very easy to install, feels really sturdy and seems very comfy for my 5 week old. The only 'con' is that it's heavy, but that adds to its sturdiness.
