After 1 1/2 months my daughter-in-love just could not produce any more breast milk...I bought her the double electric pump but she was exhausted n not eating well which meant James Michael wasn't eating well n the gassiness n screams all day n night scared us all until I found this product. We supplemented the breast milk with the ready made bottles so she could rest n after another month he's on this formula full time. It's convenient and easy to use (it tastes pretty good too) n it delivers on its promise of less gas n fuss
The price of a container of powdered formula is the one thing that isn't so great, in fact it's sad. Other than pricing (which we aren't allowed to discuss) i have no suggestions.
However I DO have one last thing to say...THANK YOU, for without this specific type and brand my grandson would have been miserable and his parents would have had a harder time enjoying what is the best thing they have next to their love for each other.

Due to a surgery, I was unable to continue to breast feed. I used Similac Advanced because that is what they used at the hospital and my son was gassy and fussy from the get-go. We switched to the Sensitive after about 4 weeks, but did not notice much of a difference. He seemed very slightly less gassy and fussy, so we switched back to the Sensitive. It is incredibly foamy and I agree with a previous post, how is it supposed to help with gas when it is so foamy and bubbly? For us, there wasn't much of a difference and for whatever reason, he isn't having any more problems with Similac Advanced, so we are back on that.

Similiac does seem to be closest to breast milk (his stools still look like breast milk stools), so we like Similac and I think it's great that Similac provides an alternative to the Advanced formula that is still based on Cows Milk, yet is lactose free. The sensitive just wasn't the formula for us.

When I gave my baby this formula, it started out fine. However, a few days went by and she started to get even more gassy and fussy. The formula is SUPER foamy and it smelled really bad. I would not recommend it at all. My baby is now on Gerber Gentle and she loves it!!

Comments about Abbott Nutrition 1010224 Similac Sensitive Formula Powder - 22.5 Ounce:

Ever Since my baby was born, the hospital gave him half similac advance and my breastmilk. After awhile I notice he was having stomach pains, so we switch him to similac sensitive and he only drinks that. Similac is expensive, so we tried switching to gentlease but my baby SO notice the difference and refused to eat. I'm sticking to similac sensitive as long as it makes my baby happy.

I couldn't BF for medical reasons so we went with formula and at first it was the blue but we changed to this stuff. We love it and have had no complains so far. It mixes easy but it's hard sometimes. We have had some constipation but not too much

Comments about Abbott Nutrition 1010224 Similac Sensitive Formula Powder - 22.5 Ounce:

I breast-fed my son for 3 weeks and supplemented with Enfamil Premium newborn. After I stopped breast feeding completely and switch to formula only the enfamil premium newborn was giving my son explosive gas and bowel movements, he also didn't seem satisfied after eating it. I had a sample of similac sensitive, so I decided to try it. Within 2 days my son was having less gas pains and no explosive BM's, he also seemed satisfied after eating. This formula did slow down his bowel movements though, he went from a few per day to one per day. The one downside to this formula is that it does stink, it makes his burps stink, his urine stink and his bowel movements are especially smelly. It can also be very foamy if you shake bottles, i found if you make the formula in the bottle roll it between your hands instead of shaking, or buy the doctor brown's formula pitcher, leaves less foam and is great for making bottles for the day. Another positive about similac is that it does not contain palm olein oil, which is proven to result in reduced bone density and mineralization in babies that drink it. Enfamil and most generic formulas contain this ingredient.

If you are having a problem with it being foamy, try a spoon!! Yeah, shaking it is the best lazy solution to mixing it but obviously not the best for baby! If you use a spoon there are virtually no bubbles and it goes down just fine! Duh... It DOES give my little man gas and leaves him a little constipated, but I don't think its bad enough to switch formulas again. My LO loves this compared to the Gentlese...

The next day after using this formula my son had more gas, screaming cause his stomach hurt, constipated, spitting up everything, and wasn't able to sleep soundly. He had a little gas before, but nothing horrible. I pump for him, but we got the sample of this so decided to try this to supplement when needed. Wish I wouldn't have used this. Switching him to the Gerber Good Start was a much better choice for him.
