This is a good product because of the video option, and the fact that it comes with a handheld too. I use it all the time, and it is great during the day, but the problem is at night when I want to sleep myself. I keep the monitor on so I can know when he wakes up at night, but this thing has the worst static and just makes loud noises all night, that I eventually have to turn it off! Basically it becomes useless at night, and just not worth the money. My advice is get this product to use during the day (if you don't mind the price), but then get a separate audio-only system for nights so you don't deal with crazy static noises.

You do get a bit of static every so often (sometimes when you walk in front the screen, or if you get too close), and the colour is only there when the lighting is JUST right... but it's not enough to say that I would not recommend it. I love this monitor. The handheld works well, and the battery last long once you don't use the video on it too much. I went to my neighbour's house (to borrow eggs) with it and though there was static, I could still see and hear my baby so I felt ok leaving him sleeping there for those few minutes.

It is very usefull to be able to see, not just hear your child, I really enjoy the video option.
The overall range isn't bad with this unit, but there is a lot of interferance [just walking around affects greatly the reception]. For video, it doesn't matter too much, even if the image jumps, or there are constant lines through the image feed, I can still see what my daughter is doing. However, we have to keep the units with the volume turned all the way down, otherwise all we hear is buzzing and static. She has to cry loud enough that we hear her through the house before her voice is loud enough to break through the static of this unit. As a result, we bought a hi-def digital monitor as well for the audio.
On a more positive note, the night vision works really well, and it's convenient to have 2 monitor units. It is however, inconvenient that the hand held unit turns the video off after a little while in order to save battery [seems like a convenient feature, but considering the audio is absolutely useless with this device not very pratical].
Another odd thing, is the A/C to D/C adaptors that came with it didn't match the ones in the pictures, so i had to match them based on voltage/amperage requirements of each device, not a big deal, just seems a bit sloppy.

I would have given this a higher rating than 2 stars if either it was cheaper [not $299] or if the audio was even remotely usefull. I'm a techy guy, and I was looking forward to buying some cool gadgets when my daughter was born, and I'm sad to say that this particular one was a total let down, but perhaps later on, I'll use it as a front door camera since I don't need audio for that.

From the moment i found out i was expecting i wanted this product. this was a gift and i tried it as soon as i got it and it works great. i love that i can also connected to my own TV. Is a little pricy but is worth it.

This is a wonderful product. We bought it for my first grandchild. The picture is great in quality. The best part is the night vision aspect where you can see in daylight or dark. And it happens automatically. Parents can have the screen in the bedroom or move it to another room easily. Also includes a holster style portable so you can walk outside and still see the and hear the baby. No running to the baby's room with a false alarm. A real must have .

I love this invention!! I read the reviews before putting it on my registry and was worried about the reception and the color viewing....
BUT I will say that it is only in color during the day or if a light is turned on my it is in B/W otherwise but that is fine b/c there is a contrast feature you can adjust and the picture is CLEAR!!!

I really do Love it!!!!

I was very disappointed in this product because I received it shipped to me and had to return it the very next day. I used it during the day which was fine because I wasn't trying to sleep, but at night time I had to turn it off because every few seconds a static noise would go off and keep me awake. I don't know if they're all like that, but I can't keep something that deprives me of sleep. This was a terrible investment!

We bought the product because I wanted to have the TV monitor in our bedroom for the nights but also wanted the hand held for being around the house during nap times. This is the only video monitor that has both, so in that respect we love it. The major issue we have is that there is major static and flickering when someone walks between the camera and the reciever...it is not even 30 feet away with very little inbetween it. We are on our second one and it is a little better but we still have the issue which when you have house gets is very annoying. For the price I would have expected a great product not an okay product.

This moniter is great. It's like having him sleeping in the bed with us. All I have to do is look over and see my angel sleeping. The handheld is also great, b/c I can be doing housework and still have him with me. Great product! I highly recommend!
