    The toy is fabulous, but it states right on the box that it "propels a propeller". It came with neither a propeller nor motor. I am currently waiting to hear back from the company that makes this toy as to weather they will correct this situation. Again, my son absolutely loves the toy but it seems to be misleading the consumer by showing a propeller and motor that are not included on the cover. I would also note that the screw in bulbs were replace by Bright white LED's (this is a good thing) you may miss the small note that explains this change. Also the book of instructions (with the propeller and motor picture) has a list of parts that makes no mention of either the motor or propeller. And it does not make an AM radio either. This is definitely a strong case for false advertising.

    Good science learning toy - both my 8 yr old and 10 yr old thought it was a really cool, and were immediately interested in experimenting with it to see what they can do and how to do it. My 10 yr old was excited to reinforce what she learned in school last yr (and show off). However, I was disgusted by the false advertising. The box says there is a motor and propellor, but it is not in the box. Inside it says that parts are subject to change without notice (as they did with the light bulb -- improving its design). But this is just false advertising. We really would have liked to use the propellor. Disappointing but still a good toy I suppose.

      Manual is written well, includes troubleshooting section on how to test each individual part. Recording IC is such a great idea... makes for some fun circuits where your childs voice says "water detected" when the two jumper wires are in a cup of water etc.

      The snaps are solid and durable, what a great idea.

        I bought one of these for my classroom since electric circuits, conductivity, etc. are all in our curriculum and I liked the way everything was small and together. The board is about 1/2 the size of the box, so it is not big and bulky. My 4th grade grandson found it and played with it for hours with his grandfather. He explained to me how it worked. One of the best things about this unit is the book that accompanies it. The book shows over 75 different ways to build a circuit and make different things happen (ring a bell, record your voice, work under H20 etc.) All safe and easy to follow pictures so there is not pages and pages of reading. Just a little. My grandson learned about electricity without even knowing he was being taught. I ordered two more, since my grandson took that one home, for my classroom. I know this is a good product because all the parts can be easily kept together, and the kids will have a blast building by snapping together the pieces to make their creation look just like the picture and testing what they made to see if it will work. I would highly recommend this product!

        READ BEFORE BUYING! NO PROPELLER

        The photo shows a propeller. I would not have purchased this item if I knew in advance the product does not contain all of the parts. It seems like a waste of money for a kids toy that is not complete. Buy a snap electric kit for ANOTHER COMPANY, that is complete with all parts. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!

          There is a note inside that says pieces are not as pictured on box. They should have a sticker on the outside. My husband got this for my 9-yr old so he would stop taking cell phones and calculators apart. He has had a wonderful time this afternoon with it. Now I'm going to have to get him to slow down and read all the explanations so he will learn why it does what it does! I think it's great.

              first we were searching the propeller too. instead you get the box to record voice. our son likes it a lot and started building all the projects without help. He turned 7 and I think it's a good toy for little technicians.
