Comments about California Innovations Columbia Trekster Diaper Bag - Navy & Silver:

This bag was the only bag we used from day one. In less than 3 months the cooler lining had completely separated between the clear plastic & reflective lining. By 6 months, both plastic zipper toggles had broken. We also had some of the stuck zipper issues that others have mentioned. But I give this 4 stars because despite these issues, it continued to work with no further problems until our baby was a year and a half old.

Awesome Daddy Diaper Bag

Best Uses:

Comments about California Innovations Columbia Trekster Diaper Bag - Navy & Silver:

I bought this diaper bag for my husband to use mainly because he is diabetic and his insulin needs to be kept cold, so having a thermal compartment in the bag was awesome. Very few diaper bags have one. Also, this bag is not cutesy - it doesn't even look like a diaper bag, so guys won't be embarassed to carry it.
We've had ours for about 5 months and have had no issues. It's only used rarely, so I can't attest to the zipper issues that frequent users have. It's not too big, and it doesn't have a million little pockets to put everything in, but it's perfect for a secondary diaper bag or daddy bag. And realistically, if I put all of the baby stuff into a million little pockets, my husband wouldn't be able to find anything come changing or feeding time.
It's also nice that it zips completely closed. Many diaper bags are open at the top, so things are easily spilled in the stroller or elsewhere.
Perfect for daddy!

Light, Roomy, Durable Bag for the Price

Comments about California Innovations Columbia Trekster Diaper Bag - Navy & Silver:

This bag's been indispensable for the 14.5 months that we've used it. It's light and easy on my bad back, fairly roomy for day outings (and even for long trips for us, with one child), and pretty durable for the price (I got it on sale at BabiesRUs with a gift certificate).

The main reasons why I don't give it 5 stars is because the zipper sticks easily, and you have to pull the inside seam to un-stick it every time (pain in the heiney), and b/c the inside compartment finally tore at the seam after a year or so (although it doesn't really impede functionality). It would've been nice to have maybe at least one more separate compartment inside too. But for the price?!

It's great for folks with back problems, and it doesn't slip off the shoulders when juggling the baby, etc., like a one-shouldered bag would. I love the two side compartments too, esp. the insulated cooler. It just looks good too. I think this bag would've even been worth it for ten or fifteen dollars more than steal sale price I got for. One of our most useful baby purchases ever!

Comments about California Innovations Columbia Trekster Diaper Bag - Navy & Silver:

I absolutely love this bag!! It is great for carrying everything you need without also needing to carry a purse. Great and thoughtful compartments. I see that a lot of people complain about it tearing, and in fact mine did tear along the cooler compartment zipper after almost a year of use, BUT you can very easily get a new bag replacement from California Innovations by going online and filling out a form.

Ok Bag
By Boo from Oregon on 10/8/2009
Pros:
Backpack
Cons:
Bulky, Difficult to Access
Best Uses:
Changing Bag, Daily Use, Short Trips
Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent

Comments about California Innovations Columbia Trekster Diaper Bag - Navy & Silver:

This bag is just ok. It holds everything we need for an outing with baby but it is not shaped well. It is difficult to see into bag or to find things with one hand which is necessary when holding an infant. The shape also makes it difficult to fit underneath our stroller. I love that it is a backpack, I just wish it was less of a triangle in shape.

Great hiking and everyday backpack
By Hiker Mom in California from Union City, CA on 9/22/2009
Pros:

Cons:
Not Enough Pockets, Shorter straps
Best Uses:
Daily Use, Infants, Out & About, Travel
Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about California Innovations Columbia Trekster Diaper Bag - Navy & Silver:

Purchased this diaper backpack after hiking with our Eddie Bauer shoulder diaper bag proved to be too difficult. I love the insulated compartment for bottles, and the side organizer. The diaper pad and wide mouth zipper for the main compartment is nice too. It's since replaced my other diaper bag as the one we use whenever we go out.

There are a couple of things that I wish of this backpack though: 1) another small outside pocket with a zipper so I can place my camera or phone for easy access without worrying it'll fall out during our hikes and 2) the straps could be a bit longer. I'm also unsure whether this bag will be roomy enough for my growing daughter and her stuff(she's only 3 months now so we don't carry around a lot).

Perfect everyday bag & for short trips.
By Soon 2B Mom of 3 from Fontana, CA on 9/20/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Diaper pad with pockets, Easy Use, Lightweight, Strong Construction, Stylish
Best Uses:
Daily Use, Infants, Newborn, Out & About, Toddlers, Travel
Describe Yourself:
Parent of Two or More Children
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about California Innovations Columbia Trekster Diaper Bag - Navy & Silver:

I love this bag! This is my 3rd child so I've used numerous diaper bags and this is by far the most efficient. I love the pull out straps that attach to the stroller handle. The diaper pad w/handle slips easily in/out of pocket, it has 2 zip close pockets for essentials and folds up compact. The Mom/Dad compartment fits my wallet, cell phone, camera, keys & sunglasses. The main compartment holds 2 outfits, 2 burp cloths, 4-6 diapers, and a light blanket with room to spare.

The only drawback is it will only hold up to 2 bottles. I use a small lunch bag if I will be out for the day.

It Broke too easily

Comments about California Innovations Columbia Trekster Diaper Bag - Navy & Silver:

I used the product as a diaper bag from day one for my little guy. It worked great but after six months one of the zipper tabs broke and then the plastic piece that the shoulder strap threads through broke so now I can use only one strap. I suppose I could rig it up to work but before this it was great. A backpack is easier to use and this is more daddy friendly too. It could use a little more room though depending on how much you tow along with you.

Comments about California Innovations Columbia Trekster Diaper Bag - Navy & Silver:

My mom got me this for my birthday bc my other diaper bag broke and was huge. This is a great bag used it tons. Only problem was the darn zipper kept falling off. Had to tie yarn and other oddities to zip and unzip the bag. My sister in law loved mine so much she said she wants one for her next child.
