My almost 10 year-old daughter received this (in red) as a special gift from her grandparents just yesterday. First, my daughter was born with cerebellar hypoplasia - making riding a bike something that was impossible due to balance and coordination issues because fine and gross motor skills are impacted by her neurological condition. While she never showed disappointment, and used her Razor scooter instead - the sense of independence and freedom a bike gives to children (their first taste of both) is something you can't even begin to explain. The bike came yesterday and took me (her mother - GIRL POWER!) less than 40 minutes to assemble on my own. And then...she was off! Just like that, like a fish to water, she was around the corner and enjoying the breeze on her face and the freedom every 4th grade already knows. She went around the block 4 times with my husband and came home grinning from ear-to-ear "I want to go around 13 more times! I want to eat dinner while sitting on my bike!" Needless to say, Mobo provides amazing things to all people, but to this family it allowed a mother (throw misty, teared-up eyes) watch her almost 10 year-old daughter...a 4th grader, ride a bike for the first time. If that's not worth its weight in gold, I don't know what is. P.S. Bonus - after her first ride around the block, she got tons of compliments from friends, parents and all sorts of neighbors about how cool the bike looks and how she officially has the coolest bike in our neighborhood. Total plus!

Bought the Mobo Triton Pro for my 10 year old boy with spastic deplegia. For the fact that he can't ride a regular bicycle. He loves it I on the other hand feel I got ripped off. The frame is made of cheap tiawan steel. Should be made of chrome moly for the price you pay for it. Hubs and rims are cheap. The pictures I seen on the Internet of the same model shows an adjustable center link. Mine on the other hand does not have one. The rear tires are toed out and worn severely after 2 weeks of mild usage. Tried to contact customer support after his first day of use for this issue. 2 weeks later still no response. Customer support is MIA. In the end my son loves it .

Great Trike, Great Ride, Great Fun

Comments about ASA Products 1009690 Boys 16 inch Mobo Triton Three Wheeled Blue Cruiser:

I've had my Mobo shift about 7 months. It's fantastic. I have spinal stenosis and had to give up my regular bike. Found you on line, looked it over and ordered. It wasn't to hard to put together. The instructions could have been a little clearer. When I went to YouTube and watched the video, some of the instructions there were different than the ones that came with the bike. It was a bit confusing. Beyond that, I ride it almost every day. I'm on my second set of rear tires. I was able to convert to street tires by getting them at the local bike shop. My longest ride has been 7 miles. I have no problems going up small hills or inclines like bridges. It's nice to be able to pull over in a nice area and just sit and watch nature. When I have had any problems, I always good quick and good help from you people. One time the return call was a little late, a week, The man who called couldn't apologize enough for not getting back. I am always satisfied when I need and get assistance for my bike. It's winter here at the moment, so my bike is in the garage. I'm looking forward to another season of riding my Mobo shift. I will buy another one when this one goes. Be sure of that.

Nice ride with some small issues

Comments about ASA Products 1009690 Boys 16 inch Mobo Triton Three Wheeled Blue Cruiser:

I purchased this ride as an upgrade for my 19 yr old son with Down syndrome and autism. We bought a Triton many, many years ago and my son has loved it. It was worn and needed to be replaced. This model looked like a good upgrade for him. When the item arrived, I unpacked and assembled it. There were a couple issues. First, one bolt and one washer had fallen out of the plastic bag, and out of the small cardboard box, and into the main cardboard box. I thought I had been shortchanged on hardware until I found them. Then one of the rear wheel bolt holes in the frame was not large enough to insert the wheel bolt. I had to use my Dremmel tool to enlarge the hole. The front tire extension does not lock in place as solidly as the Triton did. It's a little loose and wobbly. The tube that is supposed to hold the flag is really short. I'm concerned that the flag is not going to stay in place very long. Lastly, the shift lever would not engage the reversing mechanism. After investigation I have determined that the L shaped metal tube that guides the shifter cable had broken loose from its place, and was not allowing the rocker arm to extend fully to engage the reversing mechanism.

Got one of these for myself and love it! Just bought my husband one and we are happily loving every minute on them. We take them out every afternoon. We live in an RV resort and they are the perfect mode of transportation all over the resort.

Comments about ASA Products 1009690 Boys 16 inch Mobo Triton Three Wheeled Blue Cruiser:

I Bought the mono triton pro cruiser 2 months ago and I like the way it handles. The only problem I have with it is the TIRES they are really lousy. I have 80 Miles on them and they are worn down to the cord which is really bad. I would like to get good tires. Does anyone know where you can get a good set of tires The front tire is like new but it is the 2 back ones. I Live just outside of Buffalo, N.Y.

Comments about ASA Products 1009690 Boys 16 inch Mobo Triton Three Wheeled Blue Cruiser:

I bought this bicycle for my seven-year-old special needs son. Due to a brain injury, he has difficulty with his balance and coordination, so riding a two-wheeled bicycle just hasn't been something he can do. However, he loves his new Mobo Triton because he can focus on pedaling and steering without having to worry about his balance.

The brake handle is a bit far from the handlebar, and he couldn't reach to use the brake (though my five-year-old could reach with no problem), so, being a mechanical engineer, I fabricated an extension to the brake handle that reduces the gap such that the brake handle touches the handlebar when the brake is engaged. He is now able to use the brake.

Because of the rear steering, he has managed to flip it over a couple of times, so be sure your child wears a helmet. (Knee pads are a good idea, too.) If riding near traffic, the rear steering also means that your child could suddenly veer toward a car, so be very cautious in such circumstances.

If your child can ride a two-wheeled bike (or has no reason not to learn), you might want to think twice before buying this one. But, for a special needs child, this bike is great, and it has allowed us to go on family bike rides with our two other children.

Comments about ASA Products 1009690 Boys 16 inch Mobo Triton Three Wheeled Blue Cruiser:

We won this bike in a drawing for our deafblind daughter. She sees a very tiny amount, hears through a cochlear implant, and has no balance. When we were notified that we won we were so excited!!! The bike arrived and she has been on it since! This bike is a great tool for recreational therapy, as well as just plain fun. Excellent customer service as well!!
