Description



Smart Gear wooden Balance bikes, often referred to as run bikes or training bikes, which are pedal free and without training wheels, first and foremost help a child develop the most important skills necessary to later ride a 2 wheel bicycle with pedals: Balance and Motor Skills. Smart Gear Balance bikes were designed to develop a child's balance and coordination by simply allowing the child to sit and walk or run with the bike by pushing with their feet. If the bike starts to fall, kids instinctively regain their balance using their feet. Once they've gained some momentum and balance control they can lift their feet up as they feel comfortable and start cruising! It is also suitable for children who need to be encouraged with motor skill development and therapeutic training. Traditional toddler bikes with training wheels don't necessarily train or teach a child how to ride a bicycle. The training wheels are merely a crutch that give the child a false sense of security and merely keep the child busy or entertained rather than actually helping the child develop the necessary skills to ride a bicycle. Smart Gear bikes are made from birch wood with real inflatable rubber tires, foam handle bar grips, cushioned leatherette seat and a unique carry handle incorporated in the bikes body. Wonderworld uses only Water-based paint for our wooden toys so to minimize: child exposure to chemicals, a health factor use of underground fossil fuel, reducing CO2 emission, industry refinery reducing CO2 emission and chemical waste release to the environment. Wonderworld as a strong advocate of protecting the environment, insists on using only rubber-wood that is of replenishable source and widely accepted throughout the world as the environment-friendly material. Wonderworld strictly uses only non-toxic color and laquer constituent for all our products.

We bought this for our 2 year old who had been dying to ride a bike but was too small for regular bikes. This bike fits him perfectly and he loves it. It is solid and sturdy and can take the wear put on it by a young boy.

When I saw the heading on the product it was exactly what I wanted...However at no point did I see the bike was gender specific. I have a 3yr old boy and the bike came with flowers and hearts!!! Luckily his dad is a custom painter who sanded off the flowers and hearts and then put blue flames like a motorcycle. Now it's original but it was a hassle. I didnt return it because after putting it together you cant take it apart!!!

I love this Balance bike. It works great to teach kids how to balance with the security of being able to put their feet down, the challenge of keeping them up for longer periods of smooth sailing - something training wheels can not offer. I only wish they had this out when my other kids were learning how to ride.
