I registered for this humidifier sifting through several reviews, disregarding the numerous complaints regarding a loud motor. After about three weeks of use, and carefully following all cleaning and operating instructions, the motor did in fact start to make a very loud humming sound. While Crane honored the one-year limited warranty that came with the humidifier, the return process was cumbersome, especially with a new born. First, you needed to contact Crane with the initial complaint. Second, you needed to submit an email to their customer service department and await an authorization email with return instructions. Third, you are required to cut off part of the cord and send back in a particular fashion. Finally, I received a completely new replacement humidifer, only to have the SAME motor issue occur again after about 6 weeks of use. It is so loud it wakes my daughter up. I ended up replacing this humidifier with a Homedics cool mist that was roughly half the price and has worked significantly better.

I read many reviews before buying a humidifier, and decided to invest in this one. That was a mistake. It ran very quietly for the 1st year, but now makes a loud rattling noise. It was emptied daily and cleaned (which wasn't easy) as directed, so I expected it to last longer, especially given the higher cost. Also, I found that when carrying it fully assembled with water in it, if it was even slighty tilted or I walked too fast with it, water spilled out.

I've had to return this produce twice because after a month of use, the motor became EXTREMELY loud! I tried to contact the company regarding this issue but they never returned my phone call. I thought the 1st one was just a fluke but once I exchanged it for a newer one, it just ended up doing the same thing. I've tried everything to fix it but it would not stop no matter what. My sister-in-law also purchased this same one & had the exact same problem. This is not a cheap & I'm extremely frustrated & disappointed with the product. The one & only PRO I would say about this product is that there is a huge tank so you don't have to worry about filling it up as much as you would have to with a normal sized humidifier. Other than that, the Cons definitely out-weigh the one Pro. Horrible, loud & noisy! I will never buy again!

After lots of research and trying to find a great humidifier based on reviews, I decided to purchase this one and am happy with it BUT I read other reviews that say it's quiet. I don't know if there is something wrong with mine but it definitely makes a humming noise and is not super quiet like the other reviews I've read. Does anyone have some advice on what I should do or anything to make the humming noise ease up?

On a positive note, it's very easy to operate. Runs great, easy to pick up handle, adjustable output, easy to fill, no leaking problems, and the large tank is a huge plus! It's pretty annoying when you have to keep refilling and refilling the tank everyday but I only have to fill this every other day.

My son has mild allergies and the dr suggested using a cool mist humidifier. I am very happy with my choice. We did not want an animal shaped humidifier so that we could use throughout the years. This one is perfect. It is also large at 2.5 gallons and will run on high all night and only be half empty in the morning.

So far, so good. I love how it's extremely quiet. Makes such a difference in my (baby is coming in about 6 weeks) breathing at night. I would like for it to have an option for hot mist, but it's really good for this price.

Works really great. My son has a big room and it works perfectly. The settings are a great feature if you are going to move it to different size rooms. I use distilled water only and have not had to do any cleaning of the machine which is a bug plus! It is also extremely quiet!

I love this humidifier. We've been using this in our room for now and we love it. I can see a great difference without it. My baby seems to breath better with this.
