I bought this as one of the five games I bought my seven year old daughter who is going to be a first time ds lite owner and she is a beginning reader and cannot read well yet...The goal of this game is to find 20 presents which some are pretty well hidden and 12 puzzle pieces before you can start the party...I LOVE IT cuz the game actually reads aloud the instructions to the mini games for children who cannot read...There are games such as bringing water from a well and a watering a garden, to a scooter racing game, a mini game that they have to wash the scooters and many more...Great great game for younger crowd who cannot read...The game is a bit short..I completed the whole thing in 45 minutes myself but I believe it will be challenging enough for my daughter who has never had a handheld game system and I really feel this will be one of her favorite games...Was worth the [$] spent...At the end of the game you have pinky pies b-day party..they put up the banner you have decorated and bring out the cake you decorated for the party and also replay the dance you did in one of the mini games....There is a cute puzzle which I wish there was more than one of the puzzles..you also get to unwrap your presents and then play with all 20 gifts such as a whistle, book, spinning top, bubbles and much more...Fantastic game...I am glad I purchased this game even though its short I again feel it will become a favorite game of hers..Yes, I played with all their ds games and systems before they recieve them one cuz they are preowned since this is their first time owning it and two because I wanted to make sure the games and systems will be somewhat appropriate for their level of play...HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME..

It was a cute product and everything. It has cute little mini games very easy to do for a child. But the entire play time is 25-30 minutes. There are not any enemies to fight or anything like that. So if it's for a little girl wanting to play DS, its perfect. But if its someone born in the 80's loving the ponies when they were a kid, not so much.

My 5 year old got a DS lite for Christmas and this was one of the games she got from santa. After I went through and explained what was being said and how to do it, she never stopped. Even got made when I had to Charge the ds and She couldn't play it. You go from house to house and play mini games to receive presents that you take to the part and open. You get to decorate and make a cake, dance, Blow up balloons and much more

    My 4 year old daughter and I stumbled upon this last weekend. It took her a bit to learn the game but now she's hooked! I have to give her only a set amount of time to play it or she'll play ALL DAY.

    As for the people in their 20's and 30's that bought the My Little Pony game expecting to fight villians...REALLY? Wow.

        I bought this before Christmas 2008 for my almost 4 yrs old daughter who LOVES My Little Pony! My daughter will switch off between her DS and her Leapster games when she gets tired of trying to collect all the presents from this game. She will come back and continued to get more presents each day. She finally finished the game on 1st week of Aug-2009. Pinkie Pie got her big birthday party! My daughter was so proud of herself. I am very proud of her too!!! This game started out easy and got harder each time a present is found. Only one thing I would change, I wish the story line was read out loud to the younger child. Everything else was GREAT! She still plays with this game.

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
