Wow. Last year, rumors would have it that some Simpsons LEGO Minifigures or even one or more Simpsons sets would be launched in 2014, but when I saw that the product was in fact going to be the Simpsons family house as well as all the family (and "neighborino" Flanders), I didn't really know what to think; surely this had to be too good to be true? But no, here it is, standing in all its awesomeness on my desk, and it's truly a blast! Fun to build (although a LONG build, took 9 hrs), fun to play around with, and play is indeed made easy seeing that all roof parts are removable as this also applies to the 2nd floor above the living room. One might well argue that the house isn't 100% accurate compared to the Simpsons house in the TV show, but I wouldn't worry too much about that, the LEGO version turned out just excellent. There are many cool details in the house (just love the "Property of Ned Flanders" stickers on the items Homer has "borrowed") and it just obvious that this set has been treated with the love and respect that it deserves. Sure, I do miss Santa's Little Helper, Grandpa Simpson and Lisa's "Saxomophone", but all in all, you get a great set here, and this is my absolute favorite LEGO set by far. Exceptional work, LEGO!

this looks great once built, however when attaching the garage to the main house the whole structure collapses so you have to be very careful, not very well supported at all on the garage side wall, also I like the idea of the roof so you can take it off and look at the fantastic detail of the bedrooms but it sits slightly wonky ontop and nothing I do remedies this. overall a great looking set but fairly fragile in places. also was missing a corner brick but getting the part from lego was very easy. this set is very very overpriced as are most lego sets but I still buy it cos I loves me legos!!!!! the lego monster house set I got was much cheaper and much more fun to build and its actually sturdy! please lego give me evil dead themed cabin in the woods with an ash minifigure :P that would make me very happy!

A great collectable (Fragile)

Comments about LEGO The Simpsons House (71006):

After purchasing the kwik e mart i was really excited when i was presented the Simpsons house for my birthday but in comparison i was disappointed with the House's structure. After happily putting the house together i found moving it around and attaching the garage to be of great difficulty as certain areas of the house breaks off (as in lego breaking apart, not as in damaged) very easily. I have yet to succesfully attached the garage to the house as the walls cave in when i apply pressure. Despite the flaws in the structure I did enjoy putting the house together. The detail in the home like the bbq, tv, crib, piano (my favourite) and much more are very cleverly detailed and impressive. If it wasn't for the weak structure i'd of happily given it a full rating.

Fun, detailed, not very accurate

Comments about LEGO The Simpsons House (71006):

This set is really interesting to build. A lot of thought has gone into it. One of the things that really tickled me was the use of a white car door for loo roll. The photos up the stairs impressed me too. I also like that the instructions come in different booklets, as my flatmate could join in too. I feel this set is a play set rather than a model, as it is not an accurate representation of the Simpsons' house. All the important rooms are included (minus the door that leads to the basement or cloakroom) but the layout and furniture is inaccurate. You can recreate the iconic couch scene, but that's pretty much it. I'm not entirely sure why half the minifigures look drunk either. As a Simpsons fan, I'm glad I have this. If I was a child, I would appreciate or it far more to play with. If you want accuracy, go for the Kwik-e-mart.

A good model but the build was very frustrating!

Comments about LEGO The Simpsons House (71006):

Box/Instructions The box is huge - about the same size as the Pet Shop or maybe the Parisian Restaurant but I have not really measured it accurately. Parts There are over 2500 parts to this set and so it will look huge when you have finished building it. I must also add something that is annoying to me. Included are several cutlery parts as well as pots and pans for Ned Flanders to use I imagine but there is nowhere provided within the finished model to store them - no cupboard or any other storage space which is annoying. Minifigures The Minifigures look awesome. I love the heads of them as they look exquisitely sculpted and molded. The build The build is where I must report my biggest annoyance. The method used to attach the garage section to the main part of the house utilises 4 4205105: Brick 1X2 W. Horizontal Snap bricks and 4 4205107: Technic Brick 1X2, Ø4.9 bricks. This was a massively frustrating annoyance for me when trying to attach the garage after finishing the main house. The way the walls of the garage are constructed near the door hole at the back meant that every time I tried to push the two parts together to click into place, the wall of the garage got destroyed in the process and I had to rebuild it. The walls of the garage just were not sturdy enough and kept breaking apart. So I had to employ some creative thinking and disassemble part of the wall of the house, attach the technic snap brick to the garage first then try an slot it in. This succeeded but only after 3 or 4 tries and much shouting of frustration. Otherwise the build was fairly standard, but I did enjoy seeing how the different beds were made. The completed model Looks awesome. Enough said. Overall opinion Would have been much more enjoyable without the hassle of attaching the garage but still I love this model and I would recommend it to any Lego or Simpsons fan. Regarding accuracy to the house on the show - I don;t care. It is still an awesome model.

    Best Lego Purchase

Comments about LEGO The Simpsons House (71006):

I have built this set 3 times now, since owning it. We bought it when it was limited stock, only available to VIPs. The most overwhelming thing is the amount of pieces and bags. I remember opening the box thinking, 'Okay I love lego, but can I really do this?'. It's that challenge that kept me motivated. Once you get going, however, it is easy to understand and build. In fact my house has broken a few times since being built. And it most certainly is easier the second and third time around. Cons: It's HARD to move the set after being built. WorkAround: I built it onto a tray. So I pickup the tray and move that around. The first few times I tried to move it, the garage broke off and I had to rebuild the sides of the house/ garage. The way the garage is stuck on the house, it's not strong enough. Cons: I don't like the build on the roof. It looks nice, but I don't think it is functional. Just me I suppose. Pros: The detail is unreal. ANY Simpsons fan will love this! It was like a dream come true to have my very own Simpsons 'play set'. Also was the first 'house' we owned in Lego. Even if it breaks, it's not hard to rebuild. Yay Lego! Color scheme = beautiful Final Thoughts- if you are contemplating this because of the cost, I know how you feel, but there isn't a moment where I am disappointed. My son and I play with it together. And even being a mom, I still cave in and play with it myself. Brings back my childhood memories.

    So much fun!

Comments about LEGO The Simpsons House (71006):

The Simpsons House was my second Lego build. When I saw this at the store I wanted it and ended up going back to get it. I worked on it for 6 days just to prolong the experience :) It was so much much fun to build. LEGO's has been such a therapeutic experience for me. They just make me feel good from start to finish. It is so much fun to look at all of the details. It makes me want to add a yard to it (tree house etc as others have mentioned). I was a little surprised there wasn't a saxophone for Lisa although I was just has happy with the camera. No dog either. Happy with all of the figures and accessories except for the choice of material for Marge and Lisa's clothing. It's stiff and has gaps. Thin felt or a different type of material/design with 2 holes seems like it would have worked out better. I had read a few reviews that mentioned issues attaching the garage at the end so I attached it to the wall in the beginning. As soon as the pieces of the wall were built up where I could attach it, I did. It didn't hinder the remainder of the build in any way and I highly recommend doing so. I think it was the right decision for me because you could see where structural chaos could happen when trying to piece them together if you wait until the end. It takes some pressure to fit those 2 pieces together and if you aren't holding the wall in the right place, it has the potential to get ugly :) I love how creative Lego is in their creations and the way they use the pieces. The beds are so cute. The bathroom is awesome! Amazing to see how they transform into these amazing structures. The roof pieces are easily removed for viewing as well as the second floor which reveals the living room! Solid build and the the perfect size. I can't wait for May 1st when the Kwik-E-Mart is available!! Looking forward to more in this series! Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

    Can't beat LEGO Simpsons!

    By adultkid

    from Undisclosed

Comments about LEGO The Simpsons House (71006):

Awesome set! Not much more needs be said, if you like Legos and are a fan of The Simpsons, you'll have a great time building this house. At over 2500 pieces it's a good value for the price. Build took me somewhere around 12 hours, though I completed it over several days. There are minor differences between this house and the one depicted in the show (rumpus room, no car for Marge), but overall it's pretty well detailed. Would have been nice if Bart and Lisa could sit or bend (makes seating them on the couch or in the car a little funky). Also would be nice if the entire second floor could be lifted off the house, rather than just a section. Final annoyance was the attachment of the garage to the house, as the garage tends to remove the walls of the house even when you try to carefully separate them from one another. All things said, building the house was a nostalgic experience, bringing forth fun memories from the show. Waiting for more from Lego The Simpsons!
