Please read this entire thing. When you read all of the negative reviews of how this thing does not stay on the window, it rolls up, etc. These people DO NOT know how to read directions or install this correctly. This is a great shade and very easy to install, AND, stays up on the window.

This will address the rolling up comments. Take the shade out of the box and roll it out so the entire shade is flat. Leave it rolled out for about 2-3 days, this will form the shade and keep it from "rolling up."

Installing:

1st step. Clean your entire window with windex. Do this a couple of times and make sure the window is dry.

2nd step. Clean all 4 suction cups with alcohol ad let dry.

3rd step. Clean the window with alcohol just the same way you did with windex. Do this twice and let dry....not that hard right?

4th step. Position the shade in the window exactly where you want it and press the top two suction cups on the window. Press hard to get a good seal. HOLD THE PRESSURE ON THE SUCTION CUPS FOR 30 SECONDS OR MORE.

5th and final step. Do the same thing with the bottom two suction cups. Hold in place with pressure for 30 seconds.

Shade is installed correctly. Don't even take into account all the negative reviews because these people have no idea what they are doing. The whole process to "properly" install will take maybe 10 minutes or less. I hope this helps.

The suction cups are very cheap. Most of the time it takes me 3-4 tries to get one of them to stick to the window. Now that it's stuck, I don't touch it and take it off any more. The material is very very thin. If your winddows are not tinted, I suggest you get something that's thicker. I don't think it's wide enough to cover the windshield, so I just attached the top 2 suction cups, and let the bottom two hang down.

Comments about Safety 1st Rear Window Shade:

I purchased this because I noticed how much sun comes through my rear window and didnt want it blinding my baby. I installed it , very easy but the bottom suction cups dont hold as well as id like. Ive had to re-suction them multiple times already...also it does effect my view through the back window more than id like but it is bearable..all In all it does what its supposed to.

The window shade doesnt stay very well on the window. It rolls up - uses "old school slap braclet" style end pieces. I don't recommend this for a smaller car.

        Didn't Work

Comments about Safety 1st Rear Window Shade:

This product didn't work for me. I washed the back window as the instructions said to and wet the suction cups. 5 minutes into my drive after installing the window shade one of the bottom suction cups unstuck and rolled up half the shade, before I was able to stop to fix it the other bottom suction cup unstuck. I wiped the suction cups then re-wet them and stuck to the window again. Needless to say it wasn't long before the shade was rolling itself up again. Before the shade rolled up I didn't notice too much of a difference with how much sun the shade was blocking compared to not having any form of a shade in the back window (my back window has no form of tinting). I didn't care for the big "Baby On Board" sign in the middle of the shade, nothing wrong with it just not something I want on my car. I ended up returning it.

The shade doesn't reach far enough across the back window so the sun still gets in my son's eyes. Also, it makes seeing out of the back a little harder especially at night. Definitely takes some adjusting to get used to it.

Comments about Safety 1st Rear Window Shade:

First of all, no the suction cups won't keep it up, but neither will any of the other sunshades that I've tried. Soluion: heavy duty double sided tape. I've had it up for months with no problem, and since I live where it's cold, you can never count on anything that suctions to a window. Other than that, this shade is great! I've used it on the rear window of a sedan while letting the bottom loose so it doesn't lay at an angle (instructions say not to use on an angled surface). I now use it on the sides of my minivan since the windows are so large. I love that it's easy to see through since I need to see out those windows to check my blind spots. Much better than that stretch shade that droops on the sides when you use it. This is bigger, better coverage, and cheaper.

Comments about Safety 1st Rear Window Shade:

This minimizes the intensity of the sun that shines on the baby, but it doesn't do as good a job as the pull down shades that go on the side windows. I understand that the driver has to be able to see out of the rear window so the shade can't be too dark. Overall, I think it is a neat design and works ok. This may be as good as it gets though due to the needs of the driver. Nice size to cover my rear window. Rolls up into nice, compact size. I would definitely recommend.
