We use it at the bottom of the stairs, and I guess it would work well in the doorway, too.

It took me a bit of getting used to, but once you get the tension right it works just fine. No drilling, no precise installation.

Wish I had bought one of these for the nursery door, too. It would have worked, and we would not have to drill the doorframe.

This gate is junk. After several uses the tension bar snapped. It is also hard to adjust and put up in the doorway. There is nothing I liked about this gate except the price so lesson learned.

The reason this is the cheapest gate out there is that it is flimsy and difficult to use. It doesn't fit well in doorways; one setting is too loose and the next setting makes the tension bar bow outwards. Only a matter of time before it snaps. Even at the tense setting it popped out of place and smacked my 15mo old in the head. There's got to be another gate out there that's small enough to step over but sturdier than this.

Item broke the second time we put it up. The "lock bar" snapped in half.

This gate would not fit in our doorway - one setting was too lose to hold it in place, the next caused the pressure arm to bow out of place. You get what you pay for I guess.

I have 2 of these to help confine my puppy to two rooms at night every night is a struggle to set them up finging the rite notch forceing the bar down the wood is all ready cracked on both of them. Worst gates ever.

I bought this gate to keep my crawling daughter safe and once I got it in place in the doorway it snapped. One setting was too loose and the next one was too tight. The gap at the bottom seems like a horrible safety hazard, as well. You definitely get what you pay for with this gate.

I am surprised to see the negative reviews for this product. We've had it for at least a few months, put it up/take it down at least three times a day, and we have had no issues with ours. Our baby even likes to pull on it, use it stand up, hang on to it while he "jumps" in place with it in the door, and still no issues.

I don't mind buying cheap, if the product will get me through a season when it's needed. I read the reviews on this and thought "well, I'll just be careful with it. As long as it gets me through a few months..." When the gate arrived, I was so surprised with how terrible it really was. It broke in less than a week...just a few uses. I was so frustrated. HOWEVER, props to Babies R US for refunding the price of the gate AND the Shipping & Handling I paid!
