This is just what I was looking for in a checkers game. Not too huge or too small. I great size for my son. I really like that game is also its own case. My kids are constantly separating the game from the box. This product solves that by being a game and a box.

I have been looking for a nice, inexpensive checkerboard to use with my nieces and nephews, and this one does the job, but seems rather cheap. It is made of plastic, with plastic pieces. The top slides open to reveal a nice storage compartment underneath for the pieces and instructions, but the design means the top is difficult for children to open because it binds and sticks. This set works just fine, but I think I'm going to return it and get the FAO model made of wood. At[$], though, this is worth a try.

I remember one of my moments with my mother as a child and she taught me how to play checkers so I wanted to do the same with my son. I was looking for the original checker board game, not the flimsy one. I wanted something simple that I can do with my 4 year old son. And in return I got a really nice box for storing the checkers and its not those flimsy ones. I like this so much I had to buy two of these.
