Comments about Pacific Cycle Boys' 24 inch Schwinn Atlas Bike:

Easy enough to put together. Brakes are hard to adjust so they don't rub the wheel rim although wheels are not "true" so that is the real problem. Rear derailleur works well enough. Can not adjust front derailleur to work at all. Had to manually move chain to middle gear. Can not shift front up or down.

Nice kids bike!

By Dad of the year

Comments about Pacific Cycle Boys' 24 inch Schwinn Atlas Bike:

Take it from a old bike shop guy, this bike is a great starting point for a young rider. It's a steel frame, shimano gear train, alloy cranks, alloy wheels, front quick release, aluminum seat post, decent adjustable v-brakes, and was assembled well in relationship to price! Works for my 9 year old whom is 60" tall with good stand over. The frame has rack mounts and a bottle cage mount, and is quite solid, although a little heavier than a aluminum frame, but not by much. Tires have center connected tread which is good for pavement cruising, and enough knobbie for off road riding. I think for the money you cannot buy a better quality bike than the Atlas.

Comments about Pacific Cycle Boys' 24 inch Schwinn Atlas Bike:

I bought this bike for my tween after having a bad experience with a cheaper bike bought from a big lot store, which I returned. The Atlas is a solid, well made bike. My tween had been riding a smaller bike with no gears before, but the gear shifters are easy to use, and didn't take much practice to figure out. It's sleek, and sturdy, and he loves it! I highly recommend this bike, it's a good deal for a good bike.

Comments about Pacific Cycle Boys' 24 inch Schwinn Atlas Bike:

I got this for my 11-year-old. It's a good fit and great bike for him. He loves it. We looked at other 24" mountain bikes at various discount stores that were a little less expensive, but this exceeds those in quality by more than the price difference: this is a well-made bike with good parts for a kids bike. We got it online and assembled it ourselves. Assembly was minimal and easy. If you assemble it yourself, then you do need to know how to hook up and adjust a front derailleur. If you don't, then having that done at a bike shop would be a minimal expense, or there are videos on the internet that show how to do it.
