We have used this for my son for the last 3 months. We just tell him to aim down and have never had a problem with him spraying all over the floor. He loves Elmo, so it's perfect!

All the comments on here about moms of boys....tell your boy to point it down when seated. I thought this would be a given. I have never had problems and I have 2 boys. The splash guard is incase he forgets or he gets distracted. If you want your child let it hang out and not do anything about it...come armed with a Cpt. America shield into the bathroom or get a potty for the ground that has a plastic hard shield...but then moms will complain that it hurts their child to get on the potty. So for those moms who complain about urine...just let them pee in a bush outside. Get use to, even grown me cannot aim the thing.

In conlcusion, it is a seat for the potty...what are people expecting...it to wipe their child's butt too?

It's cute, would be great for a girl, but is useless for a boy. The splash guard is pointless as it is not large enough. My son urinates all over the floor with this seat.

My daughter used this, and it was great for her. We've recently started potty-training with my son, and as you can imagine, parts get caught on the "shield" at the front of the seat when getting off of the potty. For him, I tossed it, and just turned him around backwards on the toilet, he enjoys that much better anyway because he's closer to the flush handle. So, for girls, I say it's a go, but boys, I would really consider another method, or at the very least a different seat. One other problem--there are many places for urine to hide, so be prepared to bleach this entire item regularly to avoid smells and germies.

This potty seat was a gift for my son, who loves Elmo and the Cookie Monster. Unfortunately, the guard is way too small to be functional. Would work much better for a girl.

My daughter is an average size 2 year old and fits just fine on this potty. She'll sit on this for awhile working on a #2 so I'd say it's comfortable. The soft seat part comes apart from the plastic base so it's easy to clean. It's simple and inexpensive. Great solution for toddlers who want to sit on the big potty.

I don't like all of the cracks and crevices for nasty build-up, but I don't know how you would begin to fix that with the type of seat it is. Otherwise, she loves it! It slides around a bit, but again, I don't really know how you could fix that and remain as cleanable as possible. We think it's great!

I bought this seat, got it home, and found that it did not fit our toilet. What a disappointment!
Since it is a toilet item, of course it is non-returnable.

Wish I had read the reviews before buying. My 18 month old son (now 20 months) was expressing interest in the potty. He went #1 a few times on the potty & #2 once all within a 3 day time frame but each time he sat on the elmo potty seat his privates kept popping up & over the splash guard & he became very frustrated with this & is now completely adverse to sitting on the toilet with the training seat. Thanks Elmo potty.

The hole in this potty seat is much too big. It is not much smaller than just sitting on the regulart potty. My daughter who is 20 months was very uncomfortable on the seat and would not remain sitting very long.
