The strings in general are fine but we were really expecting Lime Green strings and when we pulled them out of the box at home they were a very dark forest green IF they are in the right light. Otherwise they just look black.

I bought these strings after I bought a cheap toy guitar for my almost 2 year old. The original strings were impossible to tune like a regular guitar- probably weren't meant for it. Thought about sending the guitar back or just throwing it out but saw these strings and for the price I figured it was worth a try.

Looks like they're meant for an actual guitar (or at least a smaller student one- not sure), so to put them on the 23 inch toy guitar I had to cut quite a bit off the end to be able to wind them reasonably around the pegs. I was dubious, but figured it couldn't be worse than before. I'm very pleasantly surprised that I was able to tune them to the usual guitar pitches and they have stayed reasonably well in tune and sound pretty decent- even on this tiny toy guitar! I'm so happy I tried it out- now as a musician I can feel good about giving my daughter this toy guitar for her 2nd birthday.

I have been maintaining my guitars for 40 years. I bought the First Act guitar strings and bought them for my two nieces that have First Act Acoustic Guitars. I put the strings on both guitars and was tuning them when they both broke. My nieces never got a chance to play their guitars!

Mom and 4 Kids says that these strings are a "Rip Off". In the world of guitar strings they are ALWAYS sold as a set and NOT individually. Even if they were, it wouldn't save you that much money. The thinking is, is if one string breaks, the others are going to soon anyway, so you SHOULD replace all of them if one breaks.

These are guitar strings that work and sound great on my guitar. Every instrument is different so don't think just because you are paying more for Martin or DaDarrio strings that you are getting a better sounding string.

Those that have trouble with buzzing and bad sound are a lot of the time blaming the instrument or strings for their own shortcomings as a musician.

Far more important than the brand of string is the diameter of the strings. New players need to use lighter gauge strings for best sound. For the woman who stated they break easy they were likely not installed correctly or the guitar was tuned incorrectly. Novice players alto tend to be to rough on the strings.

I have tried just about every brand and type of strings out there and these sound the best on my guitar.

My daughter broke one of her guitar strings, so we tried to buy a new one. They don't sell them separate, so you have to buy the entire set even if you need just one. They also break very easily, especially the smaller ones.

My daughter loves this thing. I can't get her to part with it! She even sleeps with it.

It works great for a child. Not sure why a pro musician would use it.
