When making the decision which costume to choose I ultimately went with the outfit that had the coat, hard hat, and was available in the store. The other option had a fabric hat. It also came with some very cute accessories. However, I quickly discovered that the reviews were correct. The mask cracked in the top which had to be taped, and the handle on the fire extinguisher broke off. It is still a cute set but, know the accessories are not well made.

Everything you read in the reviews is true. We purchased this online and the mask arrived broken in the box...as well, the extinguisher would not shoot water. (I'm going to try to take to local Toy's R Us for exchange). Nevertheless, it was one of the favorite toys that my 3 1/2 year old son received for Christmas (maybe even better than the leapster and Imaginext stuff)and he has been playing with it a lot. The ax, coat and hat are great...badge does not stay on that much. Mask is very cheap...If my son did not like it so much, i would have given this 1 star.

My son adores this costume! The jacket is fabric with a velcro closure. He likes that he can get it off and on by himself. It has frayed a bit around most of the edges in the 2 months we've had it. The hat withstands rough play, and the ax and extinguisher (which will really squirt water) are great. The badge constantly falls off and the mask is flat and stiff and won't contour to his face. I ended up replacing the plastic that was supposed to go around the head with elastic so that it wouldn't hurt. Overall, though imperfect, this set has been a big hit with my guy!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I purchased two costumes for Christmas so my son and his cousin could play firemen. Neither mask fit and one cracked in the center as we were trying to put it on. They decided to play without the masks and within 5 minutes one of the axes broke. The fire extinguisher stopped pumping water in less than a month. The coat and hat are working okay, but all the extra gadgets were what the boys were wanting.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I ordered this because my son really wanted an airmask....It is cheap made and does not stay together correctly...He puts it together and puts it on and it keeps falling apart..I feel that I wasted my money on this item....I really only bought it to get the mask...I could have purchased a fire costume to get the rest....The jacket is nice and made
