This boombox is great! My 2 1/2 yr old son loves it; except the figures aren't SUPPOSED to come off to play with (which they should, just like on the show); but if you unscrew the screws on their backs and pop off/pull down on the plastic that is holding their feet (just be careful not to crack it), and they DO come off (see pic)and can be played with and put inside the boombox. There is no robot Plex though so I'm searching for a figurine around the same size. There is no volume control either but a piece of clear packing tape over the speaker on the back works wonders! :)

I was so excited to buy this for my 2 year old daughter! We had been trying to get it for her since christmas of last year [...]Finally got one and it broke after 2 days of use. The lights and the music stopped working. I tried new batteries and that was not the problem. The plug in for an ipod or mp3 player would work which is not the point of the toy! The Yo Gabba Gabba Music is!!! I returned it, received another and it has been working since. The only negative things I could say about this item is that the characters do not come off the top of the toy (as well as all the characters are not included), there is NO volume control(which is a HUGE problem) and also it's just not constructed as well as I thought. The doors fall off all the time and have to be snapped back into place. My daughter is happy and that's all that matters but as a stay at home mom going to school, it was not worth the money [...]

          This is AWESOME! My 20 month olds LOVE this! It was their favorite gift from Santa! They love Yo Gabba Gabba and the opening song with the boom box, so they totally could relate to this and all the songs. Some people complain about the front doors falling off of it. We haven't had any problems, but my kids don't really open them that much. They mainly carry the boom box around with the doors closed and dance to the music. Only thing I wish they could change is the sound/volume. It is a little loud at times and I wish I could turn it down. Plus the Plex robot is not inclued on the top with the other figurines.

            Purchased for my granddaughter who loves Yo Gabba Gabba. She is 18 months old and she carries it around the house with her and knows how to push the buttoms to change the song.
            Personally I really like how each song is abbreviated so as not to drive Grandparents and parents crazy!

            The music is loud and clear. My two year old is a fan of Yo Gaba Gaba, so he was excited to receive this. The doors come off easy and are a little hard to put back on. It would be better if the characters could come off to play with. It should have also included Plex.

                I just do not understand the low ratings.We are lucky to be able to get a Yo Gabba Gabba toy so stop complaining!! First off Plex is not on the boom box so why are you complaining. He is not in the picture so of course he is missing. I guess they could not fit all the gabbaland people on it. Get over it! Second of all yes the doors come open but I put a piece of tape over it so they will not. There is nothing to play in it once the doors are open so what is the point of even showing your little child to open them. Just tape it and they will never know the difference! Third of all as far as the loud sound goes. Put maskin tape over it or something. I do that with alot of my boys toys to drown out the sound a little. Seriously...what kid likes to dance to soft music. The sound is just right and my kid loves Yo GABBA GABBA!!!!!!!

                Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
