my baby is 3.5 months old and i had exclusively breastfed the first 3 months... and recently started going back to work so i pumped and gave her breastmilk from a bottle. however, she would not take the bottle for a while... i think it was because we started the bottle too late... we started with medela, it worked on the occasional feeding that we tried in the beginning but since we didnt keep up with it, she refused any bottles by 2-3 months... we tried many other brands but when i eventually started work full-time and she had no choice, she went back with taking the medela bottles... i like them as they are very easy to clean, they do no leak on me nor the baby and she takes them really well! every baby is different... i use the 2.5oz storage bottles when i pump and i transfer to plastic bags... i feed her in the 5oz bottles but recently bought some 8oz bottles as well..

I used these bottles with my twins. Feeding-wise, these bottles work great for your average baby, but the valve mechanism is inflexible and does not increase or decrease well on demand, which means it does not work well for babies that fall in the "suck too hard" or "suck too weak" categories. I have one of each of these babies, so I feel qualified to review this product from both ends of the spectrum. This bottle was great for my twin who was a good feeder with a very strong suck reflex, until she got big enough that she would constantly invert the nipple because there is not enough air flow for the valve to accommodate her growing needs (even with the medium-flow nipple). However, this baby is a voracious feeder, probably more than most. This bottle was terrible for my twin who had a weaker suck reflex and was slower to nurse in general. Milk spilled everywhere & she constantly choked. She never inverted a nipple, however. But, this baby is probably slower than most babies to feed, since she takes forever to finish a bottle. For storage & travel, these bottles work great. I love their pump system, too! And it is very convenient to feed directly from these bottles rather than transferring to a different system, which is why I stuck with Medela despite the problems. De-inverting a nipple was not too much trouble, just annoying, and my weak feeder eventually got stronger & was better able to handle the flow of Medela nipples later on.I am unhappy with Medela for not selling the new rings/nipples separately. I bought 3 dozen bottles with the old nipple and ring, and Medela would not send me new rings (as I have heard they have done for other customers, but apparently no longer) for me to buy replacement nipples now that I have another baby on the way. I would happily buy new rings, if they were available, but they are not. So I will have to repurchase whole bottles just to get the new rings. Not at all customer-friendly. I'm considering starting over with a new brand, since I was given no choice but to start over anyway, and I was not completely happy with these bottles to begin with. If Medela were to send new rings, I would probably stick with them, and hope that my new baby will be a more average feeder. I have tried the new nipples, which seem to work the same as the old (but with a wider, more baby-friendly base), but my girls were about 6 months old when these came out so I don't have newborn experience with them. However, I still had the same issues of nipples inverting or leaking, depending on who was drinking from the bottle at the time.

My daughter was a preemie so these bottles didn't work for her. Too fast.

These were the only bottles my 3 week old would drink well out of for a while! They're a great size and an easy clean!

About Me Parent of Two or More Children
Strictly bottle feeding. My infant did not like the bottle. Though it was easy to pump, store in fridge, and give to baby when it was time to feed. Unfortunately she was swallowing too much air and was fussy afterwards.
These bottles are amazing!

With my first daughter I EBF and fortunately never had to use a bottle at all. With this being my second child with me working this time around I needed a bottle that wouldn't be hard for my daughter to go from breast to bottle. My daughter has no nipple confusion and she does great. They do not seem to cause her to have or anything else as well. I definitely reccommend these bottles!

It works the same as her bottles and they're not difficult
Medela 5 Ounce bottles
from Birmingham, AL
Bought these bottles because I have a Medela Pump and needed a few extra bottles to pump into. The bottles that came with my pump did not have nipples, so I wanted to get the bottles with the feeding nipples and didn't want to have to piecemeal some together from the spare parts kit and stand alone nipples. Turns out, these bottles are our favorite for feeding. The milk doesn't come too fast and they are easy to disassemble and clean. The only flaw I have found is that the measuring guide on the side is a little off on measurement (if it shows 1 ounce, it's actually closer to 0.8)
I love this brand
These bottle are great, and have held up really well for 8 mths now
