I have used these for all of my children and will use them with the one on the way... I have never had a single problem with leaks. As far as the collapses nipple. I did have that problem in the beginning but its because I had it on to tight when I closed the bottle. Once I stopped tightening it so tight it was all good!! They are excellent to pump into and then when your out and about if you are not comfortable nursing in public you have the bottle right there! I have tried all of the brands of bottles even Dr Brown, Avent, Born Free, Platex etc. You name if we have tired it. And this is the only one that works for all my kids AND it has the least amount of parts. Who wants to clean extra parts when you have a baby at home... I sure don't. And Medela stands behind there products! So if you don't like something or something isn't working the way it should contact them. They will find a solution. I wont go with any other bottle and I nurse and bottle feed. THANK YOU MEDELA FOR MAKING A GREAT PRODUCT!!!

I used these bottles with my twins. Feeding-wise, these bottles work great for your average baby, but the valve mechanism is inflexible and does not increase or decrease well on demand, which means it does not work well for babies that fall in the "suck too hard" or "suck too weak" categories. I have one of each of these babies, so I feel qualified to review this product from both ends of the spectrum. This bottle was great for my twin who was a good feeder with a very strong suck reflex, until she got big enough that she would constantly invert the nipple because there is not enough air flow for the valve to accommodate her growing needs (even with the medium-flow nipple). However, this baby is a voracious feeder, probably more than most. This bottle was terrible for my twin who had a weaker suck reflex and was slower to nurse in general. Milk spilled everywhere & she constantly choked. She never inverted a nipple, however. But, this baby is probably slower than most babies to feed, since she takes forever to finish a bottle. For storage & travel, these bottles work great. I love their pump system, too! And it is very convenient to feed directly from these bottles rather than transferring to a different system, which is why I stuck with Medela despite the problems. De-inverting a nipple was not too much trouble, just annoying, and my weak feeder eventually got stronger & was better able to handle the flow of Medela nipples later on.I am unhappy with Medela for not selling the new rings/nipples separately. I bought 3 dozen bottles with the old nipple and ring, and Medela would not send me new rings (as I have heard they have done for other customers, but apparently no longer) for me to buy replacement nipples now that I have another baby on the way. I would happily buy new rings, if they were available, but they are not. So I will have to repurchase whole bottles just to get the new rings. Not at all customer-friendly. I'm considering starting over with a new brand, since I was given no choice but to start over anyway, and I was not completely happy with these bottles to begin with. If Medela were to send new rings, I would probably stick with them, and hope that my new baby will be a more average feeder. I have tried the new nipples, which seem to work the same as the old (but with a wider, more baby-friendly base), but my girls were about 6 months old when these came out so I don't have newborn experience with them. However, I still had the same issues of nipples inverting or leaking, depending on who was drinking from the bottle at the time.

The only bottles he likes!
By Becky B

We bought several sets of different bottles, but he prefers the Medela bottles and nipples. Thank goodness these also work with my pump. Double win!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Great breastpumping mom
I got these bottles for my medela pump. The bottles attaches directly to the pump and it the prefect size. They come with both caps and nipples, which great to go from storage to feeding. The nipples are fit all the medela bottles. I also have the 2 oz and 1 oz bottles. The only downside for us was the nipple flow was too fast for our infant. I used different bottle with a newborn nipple flow for the first two months. After that the medela nipple was fine. I would definitely recommend this set if you own a medela pump.
Would buy again!

My daughter loves the Medela bottles over other brands.
Flimsy and leaky nipples
from Santa Cruz
My newborn didn't adapt well to the nipple. I attribute this to the nipples being flimsy and they also leak. If I could return this product I would and only purchase the bottles because those work well with the Medela pump.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Perfect for pumping and storing
from Glendale, ca
I love the whole medela system and the bottles are perfect for pumping and storing and just add the nipple when needed for feed. If you don't use the medela pump these bottles are still perfect for mixing your formula before adding the nipple.
I love the medela bottles. Easy to clean and easy to pump with.
Great bottle but pricey

Great product. Nipple collapses if baby drinks too much too fast. Easy to use with pump and storaging. A bit pricey
