Product Description

There are times when your child's diet may not be giving him everything he needs. Enfamil Poly-Vi-Sol is the ideal vitamin supplement.

Founded over 100 years ago by Edward Mead Johnson, one of the original founders of Johnson and Johnson, the Mead Johnson company produces more than 70 different products that are distributed in over 50 countries worldwide. Mead Johnson produces baby formula, vitamin and specialty nutritional supplements including Enfamil. Introduced in 1959, Enfamil baby formula has undergone several significant changes since it was invented. Each change brings Enfamil baby formula nutritionally closer to breast milk.

Edward Mead founded Mead Johnson because he wanted to make products to help people live healthier lives. After much research, Edward Mead and his son Lambert discovered a way to manufacture nutrient-rich baby food formula for infants who didnt have access to breast milk. This eventually became Enfamil baby formula.

Mead Johnson's global operations center and U.S. regional office is located in Evansville, Indiana.

I don't really understand what all the fuss is about, this is a vitamin, not a treat! I actually read that a mother refused to give her child vitamins it needed because of the taste. Vaccines hurt, should we stop administering those?! True, this product does have a poor taste, but my son has gotten used to the daily morning routine. In the beginning, I gave it to him right before I nursed him, so that helped with the taste. Also, another tip, it stains clothing, so I give it to my son right before I dress him and when he's laying down so that it doesn't dribble down his clothes.

I had started my daughter on the Tri Vi Sol drops, and naturally thought this would be the next step. Wrong! These taste so terrible, I could not get her to take them. She spit it right out and cried. They even smell terrible. I tried to get her to take them and only ended up with badly stained baby and mommy clothes. I didn't want to sweeten them by adding sugar or Karo syrup (I was giving them to my child bc I wanted her to be healthier, after all!), but did try to add them in to her food. Didn't work -- even on sweet foods like pears she would spit them right out. I threw them away after a week. They aren't effective if you can't get your child to take them!

Comments about Mead Johnson Enfamil Poly Vi Sol Vitamin Drops:

My son was born premature at 32 weeks, and the NICU doctors/nurses give it to all of the premies - may not taste great, but the product does its job. My son has been getting it in his bottle since about 33 weeks of age, he doesn't know the difference.

Start them young and they don't mind it

Comments about Mead Johnson Enfamil Poly Vi Sol Vitamin Drops:

We started my little girl on this at 7 months old and in the begining she would swallow it when i squirted it to the back of her mouth and she would pull a face. Now at 11 months she just swallows it and knows food is coming after. I don't mix it into her food as i don't want her whole meal to taste of it. It does smell like a normal jar of vitamins but a little more concentrated

These taste terrible. My daughter wouldn't take these alone or mixed with a bottle. We ended up wasting entire bottles of precious breast milk. Whenever she did take them she would gag, cry, and eventually throw them up. Whatever she was wearing was stained an ruined from their brown color. I actually bought her black bibs and brown onesies! When I finally tasted them I threw them out...terrible! I bought the Tri-Vi-Sol drops. She tolerates them much better and will take them right out of the dropper without a problem.

It is nasty, it does smell. Have you ever smelled a bottle of vitamins? Thats what it smells like. They need the vitamins, so unless anyone can suggest something better this is something you baby/child needs. I mix it in her food or juice and she doesn't know the differance.

The ped. put my two week old breastfeeding son on this. He hated it! Even when mixed with pumped breast milk he hates it. I don't blame him I tried it and it is gross! Smells repulsive too... It has what we need in it but he still hates it at 2 months.

I started using Tri-Vi-Sol when my daughter was 2 weeks old...and I think that tastes better than Poly-vi-sol. She took it well. I would put it in the side of her mouth before bed each night with no problems. When I stopped breastfeeding I put her on Poly-vi-sol, and since she was used to taking vitamins she has had little problems with it. It smells, and tastes about as good as a vitamin would if you were to chew it up...but she never fusses over it. I just give her some water after to wash it down. I've never had to mix it with anything. It's just part of her routine. It stains though...I give it to her before PJ's.

Comments about Mead Johnson Enfamil Poly Vi Sol Vitamin Drops:

It is a good vitamin and recommended by pediatricians. It doesn't taste great and definitely smells like a vitamin. Everything does not need to be "doped" up with sugar. I don't want my child to have too much sugar. It is un-necessary. And especially when it comes to a baby, why introdue un-necessary sugar and sweet items. Just add it to the milk, formuala, juice, cereal or whatever. If they still taste, add a drop of karo syrup or honey. But most likely, they won't. My daughter was chjoking on this trying to spit it back up because she didn't like it. So, i just put it in with her formula. I remember that all medicines and vitamins i have had to take in my life didn't necessarily taste great. So, i am not going to take vitamins away like some parents look like they might do. Pure vitamins whether for adults or children, definitely smell like vitamins and normally do not have a great taste unless a flavoring and/or sweetener is added. Vitamin flavor are sometimes so strong that sugar be added. This is not a bottle full of vitamin, just a ml. oh, and it does stain clothing so be careful if you are giving it straight.
